Started carrying appendix from day one. I literally bought the gun, keep it in the safe until I got my CC, then carried appendix from that day on.

Train. Train. Train. And train more. Confidence is key. There’s a difference in being afraid of the gun and respecting the gun. That’s about all you need to do.

A lot of my friends will carry appendix without one in the chamber and I constantly nag them about it. I say once you do that for a few months and realize the trigger hasn't pulled itself (lol) you will feel more comfortable with the idea. Thanks for making this video. I think a lot of people need it.

Holster. Number one key. Protecting the trigger

I was scared at first. How I got over the fear: I took my gun apart and played around with it to learn first-hand how everything worked. I physically felt how the striker block interacted with the striker and how the trigger bar interacted with the striker block and how much force was required for those interactions to occur. Once I physically understood all of that, it was easy for me to trust that my gun, well holstered, wouldn't just blow my nuts off while walking around. It's physically impossible if the trigger is fully covered and untouched.

I honestly started off carrying with out a round in the chamber. Over time as I got comfortable with that then I started carrying with 1 in the chamber. It also helps that I carry a cz 75 tactical ( yes full size) and it has a pretty heavy trigger. So If I holster my gun slowly I know if anything is caught in the trigger. It may take some time for people but carry how you feel comfortable and then slowly progress to 1 in the chamber.

Training and holster are important. Also my carry pistol has a grip safety which gives me peace of mind.

I've been carrying since the 1980's. I don't believe I will ever feel comfortable carrying appendix. I believe I will carry my entire life of carrying strong side. A few years back, I did carry appendix for 3 straight months in an attempt to become comfortable, and I never did. Back to the strong side I went. If you want to carry appendix go for it.

I got over it with getting to know my weapon well and lots, and lots, and lots of dry fire. Practice standing. Practice seated. Practice your draw while stationary and while moving around, with your hands in different positions (surrender, pockets, etc), as you play out scenarios. Practice your phone drop and draw with an old, empty phone case.

I've begun to carry appendix style and don't have any fear of a negligent discharge. I too use the technique of inserting the weapon into the holster then as a whole within the waistband. Makes perfectly good sense.

I over came my fear by unloading firearm and going about my day at home with it in the holster. Then checking to make sure at the end of the day the trigger is still in the forward position Meaning it didn't fire. Did this for a week or so until i was confident that i knew what i was doing.

I've been carrying appendix for years. Quicker, easier access to my firearm and a definite plus when re-holstering because it allows me to visualize any possible obstructions that can engage the trigger in the process. Not to mention no printing.

My 1st couple of months carrying empty chamber in my appendix until I got more training and comfortable. Now I always carry one in the chamber in my appendix hostler (Tier1 hostler)

One thing that I do is holster the gun first and then take my holstered gun on and off therefore my trigger is completely covered when I'm messing with it. Also as you said Finger High and off the trigger. finger discipline. I carry with One in the Chamber very comfortably in the appendix position.

I was used to DA/SA but not striker fired with my G19. Some videos on here showing how one works helped me understand it, and no issues now carrying it.

Exactly, I only carry appendix and when re-holstering I take my holster off my waist put my gun in then re-clip it, too easy. Also if you’re using a proper hard holster that completely guards the trigger you don’t have anything to worry about.

Apart of my gun safety class, my instructor had me hold my gun loaded aimed down range. Then he tapped on the gun to show me it won't just go off on its own. Seeing it on my own gun helped ease the fear.
