What are those booms heard across Salt Lake Valley?

A series of loud booms caused alarm across much of the Salt Lake Valley on Thursday, with many concerned about what was causing the noise.

Maybe save the really big explosions for the weekends. Invite people to come watch. FFS, massive explosions while the majority of people are working or kids at school is ridiculous. School districts are sending messages to parents to assure them that their kids are safe.
