Yes, most important - KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS!!! Some of my neighbors have backup wood stoves, some are hunters, all are willing to help each other. I have a generator, so can provide water to neighbors for power outages.

Cash is *always* important, as well as non perishable food & water.

Having cash on hand is a good idea, but tangible items such as extra food, water, gasoline, etc is much more important.

Look at George. Giving great financial advice all while being a great Miami Dolphins head coach, this guy does it all!

This was my exact question when I was walking around Publix today.

I've given up the moniker of prepper, and now call myself a pragmatist. Hopefully the world won't go kablooey over the next couple of years, and I can move on to several acres and start calling myself a homesteader.

Glad we bought a whole house generator 😢😅. We live in Ocala Fl and the hurricane is heading straight for us.

I remember growing up in Virginia and there was an ice storm that put the electricity out for like 3-4 days, and luckily we had a wood fire stove that we could could eggs on. I didn't really consider how my parents must've felt since I was just a kid. There's legitimacy to having at least a week's worth of "survival" available to you at all times. And I'm a hypocrite, I need to go shopping lol

I do a fireproof safe and a fireproof pouch inside the safe.

It really depends on location and transportation. In Hawaii, its $1300 to bug out OR shelter in place. $20s, $10s, $5s.

You need at least two weeks in an emergency CASH 💰 in small bills from a dollar to a hundred dollars 💵 and don’t forget that change some stores want exact change we live up north and we went through Sandy thank god we had that extra cash on hand 🤚🏻

I definitely think everybody should have an emergency preparedness bag that would include basically everything from money to basic non-perishable food and water to some basic toiletries and first aid supplies, phone charger, change of clothes etc.

Basically everything you would need if you suddenly for some reason had to take off and leave home for a few days because of a natural disaster.

I don't think you need to go crazy and become a Doomsday prepper and I think that doing so can sometimes lead to an obsessive anxious pattern.

But at the same time being ready for an unexpected situation rather than scrambling for necessities and forgetting things is a good idea

I'm glad that I can make my own financial decisions

Texas ice storm when the power was out across entire blocks, cash was a nice to have for some who had to go to the store. Valuable for a short-term natural disaster and only if you hadn't been pre-prepped with a week of food and water, not the apocalypse. John is so right, community is key.

@4:36 Thanks to George for the shout out! 🤣

Great question! Because we live on the Gulf Coast, we stay prepared as possible and keep enough cash on hand to meet any immediate needs.

Dr. John my husband is a planner too 😊, also not of the apocalypse level. However, the 25 year shelf life ration food we have to cover us for a week ... 😟 tried samples and it doesn't taste good 😕

God bless y'all and the work you do 🙏
