Manitowoc Minute host Charlie Berens shovels all the walks, is real polite at Kwik Trip and even props up Diane's windshield wipers to help with her winter driving in Wisconsin. As a Nebraskan I can confirm that “ope- sorry” is the second most used phrase behind “it would be warm if it weren’t for the wind”

the holding the door for someone half a mile away is accurate and we always add "take your time, don't rush." so they dont have to walk faster.

I like how the Scandinavians moved from the Old Country, and instead of trying something a little warmer or less remote they were just like "No, we'll be fine right here where it's still freezing cold. You all enjoy those other parts. No...Yeah we're fine, don't worry about it!".

I grew up in Minnesota. The awkward drawn out conversation with the woman on the front steps is painfully accurate. We are too nice to walk away. We just stand there and sort pace/sway without facing each other and just let things take their course. You wouldn’t want to offend anyone, I mean golly.
