The last time the NBA was on NBC, LeBron James was still in high school, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry were only 14 years old, Jayson Tatum and Jaylon Brown were in kindergarten, the Sonics were still in Seattle, the Nets were in New Jersey and George W. Bush was in his first term as President.

Brings back that old school basketball nostalgia for me because I grew up in the NBC era but also being a team you wanted to play on the NBC network and if you did, they treated it and you like a spectacle. It was that big game feel.

Yes, a part of my childhood is returning in 2025. I'm so glad that NBC got the NBA back. Unfortunately NBC won't have the NBA finals because it will still be on abc, but NBC still got a very impressive NBA package. The entire All-Star weekend, NBA opening night doubleheader every year, a bunch of regular season and playoff games etc. Oh and roundball Rock is back where it belongs on nbc. Welcome Back NBA on nbc.

First, it was the return of the iconic NHL on ESPN. Then it was the rebirth of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event and now NBA on NBC will return in October 2025 as part of the 2025-2026 NBA Regular Season. 🇵🇭
