Should you learn the 100 most common words in a language? My answer is no and here's why.

I think the point of focusing on the top 500 words is not to make sure you cover them (since they'll pop up anyway), but to exclude words 501+. To get used to the water before diving in. But yes, you eventually need a lot more than 500 words.

You are completely right. New language is a new world and knowing only 100 words is like knowing only 100 streets of this enormous world!

I'm using a vocabulary book, and I love using that book because it gives an example sentence. It gives me an idea how to use the word them and allows me to remember them better at least for me that's the case.

Ah, that's the point!!! Learning a language has a beginning but no end....Even 10 thousand words is not enough, but it's better to have them just to realise you're going the right way...

But if you have something, like a deck of flashcards, inform yourself without fanatismis not a bad idea at all.
Theory informs practice.
Theory without practice is dead, but
practice without theory is blind.

Another point is, that stumbling with a blindfold is a skill, looking around is a skill. Inna language learning you acquire skills using skills, and it's good to be conscious about a method being better or worse for you, because of it.
And!!! Very useful to understand, that those skills you use to acquire skills will develop through practice.

I like reading than memorize words by words vocabulary then translate the new words then reading again 100 times with the same story, i study English without partner even know i just practice speaking like i give speech with audience cause i love with the stand up comedy this increase my confidence even know i want to stand up

So what to do? Please interview me. You do not seem to know what many like myself have gone through in failing after spending sums like $5, 000 in learning Tagalog.
