Inside My Boyfriend's Dream Loft Apartment Tour 2025! #loftapartment #apartmenttour #reissued

Here at REISSUED, we love transforming thrifted finds (and sometimes literal trash) into one-of-a-kind statement pieces that make a space feel unique, homey, and beautifully vintage. Join us as we renovate my old house and take on new trash-to treasure home projects!

I said we are working on some new spaces (outside of my house) in 2025... so let's get started by touring my boyfriend Matt's amazing loft apartment! This 1930 grocery building was converted to condos in the late nineties so it has so many cool features... and some areas that need a little work. We are already getting started on some projects in this space, but let me give you a little tour so we know what we are working with. And as always, I'd love to get your ideas and feedback in the comments!

How about built a round bench around the column as seating and use the column as back support for the bench.

The column next to the entrance could definitely benefit with a wraparound bench, where you can sit and take your shoes off.

The tub-within-the-shower thing...If there was any way to turn that space into a teak-lined spa room, I think the enclosed nature and smallness could become a feature. If you made it feel like a sauna space, even if it was tile that was a wood-colored brown/tan, it could make that little enclosed tub space feel really special, I think.

With the column in the bedroom, I wonder if you could do a quarter-round or half-round vanity/desk sort of thing? Surround the column with the desktop/countertop, wrapping around, and then have a cozy, circular corner that would be super unique in its look and feel?

Hi from Sweden! What is in the laundry room on the otherside of the wall behind the fridge? Kan you cut a hole and push the fridge back in there a bit? Might make the kitchen more airy. In the hallway behind the column, if you build some kind of wardrobe storage, maybe build like a step up to it, platform, same hight as the base of the column. Then its not so tight to walk to it. Maybe build storage underneath, a rollout drawer for off season shoes?

For those big columns, TheSorryGirls posted an bedroom makeover a while back (maybe 5 months ago...?) and they installed some circular shelves on them thanks to some kind of strap system. Could be good for the bedroom maybe?

No idea if this would work on any of your columns but in gardening there are circular benches made for surrounding trees. Some are made of wrought iron, some are wood. You could design one that hugs the column above the flange at the bottom.

Hello Andrew, regarding the columns … content creators, The Sorry Girls, put shelves around columns. Wanted to throw this idea out there! Hope it gives you some ideas!! Love your content and the coffered ceiling is awesome; can’t wait to see the finished results.

What a beautiful space, I can't wait for the makeovers. And a crazy plant lady seeing all those gorgeous plants made me very happy. And the best thing is: there is sooo much more space for more. :D

I'd probably turn the hall back into the dining space with a nice long banquet sitting off the wall just enough to fit a shelf along its back for display. Of course, shelving could continue up the wall as well or maybe better a gallery wall. That should leave comfortable space for walking in hallway. With the dining gone in the kitchen, as well as the peninsula, the kitchen can then naturally expand horizontally in that space and transition nicely into the living room. Best of luck!

Matt's dog looks just like my old girl! Love seeing the pets. I also adore high ceilings so this flat is stunning. I agree the kitchen looks cramped and getting rid of the bar for a more open look would be better. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hi, those columns are inspired from the Frank Lloyd Wright Johnson wax bldg. The columns in my opinion are beautiful. Add up lights from the floor to create drama . Also I would suggest you consider really honing in on mid century architecture and decor. Between the columns, and loft vibes this home is perfect for mid century aesthetics. I would also suggest massive abstract art leaning from the floor. Think Paris apartment. The space also has a an artist lives here energy. Whatever you do I’m sure it will be beautiful.

Hey Andrew. Listen. I love the columns. Trying to hide them or to add weird circular shelves to them (Sorry, but the Sorry Girls column thing looked sad) would probably annoy you after a while. I would embrace it. Make it a feature. Paint them. Add accent lighting from below and really just celebrate the architecture. As for the layout, I would reconsider the dining room position to what it was staged as. A really but skinny table would look amazing (on Homeworthy this week they toured some guy's loft and he had a skinny table in a similar space and it looked amazing)... moving the dining space will allow you to use that current dining space for the living room and will allow you a little more freedom for the kitchen "expansion". Good luck to both you and Matt. Its already a great space!
