Most modern wars are caused by greed and territorial expansion not religion . World war 1 was caused by monarchies and world war 2 was caused by imperial ambitions of Germany and Japan . Most modern conflicts are not caused by religion and this is coming from an agnostic . Anyone who says religion causes most wars can make that argument 1000 years ago not today. Anyone making that argument has a clear bias against religions and not based in facts.

Most wars are fought over resources and territory.

Most wars are tribal, not religious. Israel/Palestine is far more based upon tribalism (ethnic Jew vs. Arab) rather than religious Judaism vs. Islam. There are Muslims in the IDF, and there are Palestinian Christians, even though the movement is driven by people who identify as Muslim.
Ongoing wars in Syria and Yemen have killed far more than in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, yet the overwhelming majority of combatants on all sides are Muslim.
