I bought an M1 MBA last week. there was a 375$ price gap between M2 MBA. using that 375$, I bought a DELL 4K monitor (priced 450$) monitor's type-c cable also charges MBA, so second thunderbolt socket is free for my use. I'm happy. instead of buying just a single M2 MBA, now I have a M1 MBA and 4K monitor setup.

I moved from Windows to the M1/8/256 air in 2021 and that was the best decision ever. I use it for daily work (office, , mail, video conf, web browsing etc.) as well as to play HOTS, it is at 260 cycles and 92% battery capacity it does 10 hrs without any problem. Never had slowdowns or throttle. Just some wifi lag spikes that are because of the AWDL crap of macos, not the laptop itself.
I will keep using it, until updates are been released for it. The best machine ever.

I'm using 16/256 M1 Air (with external SSD drive) for photo editing as a destination photographer. It's performance is still stunning in Lr/Photoshop, the battery life and low power efficiency is dope also. Great tool.

I recently bought an M1 Air with 16GB ram 256GB storage, this is my first Apple purchase at 45. I will say it is the best portable computer i have ever owned. 90% of my work is done on local Linux servers and there is 96TB of networked storage available which i was able to map easily. I cannot see myself ever using over 60GB of local storage. I have multiple remote desktop sessions running, terminals, network music player, code editor, browser and rarely come close to 5GB memory use. Other devices stream video to a display so... i consistently get closer to 16 hours battery life heavy work and almost a week between charges for lite work. My video editing needs are minimal though i do play around with machine learning on the M1 have yet to hit 12GB ram utilization for those tasks. This will probably be the first laptop i shed a tear for when it dies.

My 16/256g M1 Air is just over 2 years old now. It's still snappy and responsive. I use it mostly for journaling, but it copes with the occasional video editing tasks with ease. Simply put, it's the best laptop I've had to date!

I think Apple had to make the M1 as powerful as they could manage because it had to be truly exceptional if it was to replace Intel chip technology. And boy did they succeed! It has been a hard act to follow understandably. I have the M1 Mini 16/512 and use it for video and photo editing as well routine tasks. Best computer I ever owned. Didn’t think I needed an M1 Air, but after a technological glitch giving a public lecture with my M1 iPad I am buying the M1 Air because it is the best entry level laptop ever made. (When I see the nice looking new Windows lap tops I have zero curiosity about them-they are dead obsolete in my eyes) I don’t need anything more and neither the M2 or even the M3 would be worth paying for. Even when the M1 air is obsolete it will be a classic.

Best machine I've ever bought. The only downside is, that you cannot upgrade the storage. I have the 16/256GB version and I regret that I didn't take the 512GB or even the 1TB model.

Easy enough to get a 16/256 for like £900 or so nowadays - combination of that, the performance, battery life etc all for almost £500 less than the M2 (which M1 is better than) means it's just unbeatable imo - Plus I much prefer the older wedge design! Can't stand the notch on the newer macs personally

I'm old. I loved my MacBook Air Intel 2020, but just reupped to this, with 16 gb memory and 1 TB drive. I considered everything, and your videos were pivotal. I went to Applestore today, just to rule out the M2 MBA as a contender. Boy, that thing lacks all the elan in person, comparatively. It feels demonstrably cheap. The M1 MBA is so solid.

It’s 2024 and I recently bought an MBA M1 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. I am in love with it. I just got it because my iPhone 15 Plus wasn’t cutting it anymore for the basic stuff I needed a laptop for (emailing and web browsing). I mostly got it for new job hunting as it is easier to apply for jobs and to update my resume. Also, the main reason for me to get it was the price it’s going for now brand new at Walmart for $699.

A used M1 Macbook Air now runs up the score on any other Apple product if one is on a budget. If one buys a Macbook new, the temptation is to start adding at least one of extra ram or storage and AppleCare, and suddenly one is north of $1700. Whereas used, suddenly one is looking at 1/2 the price or possibly even near 1/3 the price of what one would have spent new, albeit for a beter spec-ed machine.

Just bought the M2 air midnight color base model. It's beautiful! The best looking laptop I've used/seen inside and out. Super fast, no slow down, incredible battery. If you are like 95% of users like me, this laptop is perfect. If I was gonna do heavy work I would of bought a pro. I knew what I wanted to use this for and it's amazing for that.
