Allen Parr offers his take on the Arminianism vs. Calvinism debate. He implies that Arminians and other Non-Calvinists have a reason to boast if they truly have the freedom to choose to believe in Christ and follow Him. Is this true? Or is this a gross representation?

I like that you pointed out that the humble that repent don't deserve salvation on their own merit, but they only get it because God chose to offer it to those that do so. Great distinction.

I used to watch Allen all the time before I realized he was calvinist… I will on occasion watch a random video from him, but now it’s definitely with discernment.

Thank you, Dr. Flowers. I'm so tired of popular teachers straw-manning these arguments.

It's baffling to me that when we do exactly what scripture tells us we must do to be saved, Calvinist's claim that we are taking credit for our own Salvation.

Calvinists are so inconsistent. They say if we accept God’s offer of salvation, we’re claiming we think we are responsible for our salvation. But, if we reject God, that’s on us! So we have the power to reject Christ, but not the ability to receive him. That’s a strange form of power we hold under the Calvinist view.

Going by Allen's logic, I could say that I saved myself by choosing to board a rescue boat that took me off an island I was stranded on. Does that make sense? Of course not. The person on that rescue boat saved my life, PERIOD Imagine going on tv to tell your survival story and you say "Yeah so I saved myself when I decided to get onto that rescue boat. I'm alive today because of my decision to do that. It's all thanks to me." People will look at you like there's something wrong with you. I know I would lol

"There's a huge problem with this view... the problem is... it's not my view."

Thanks Leighton. Very well stated.

Calvinists need to STOP forcing this proposition that everyone opposing their view is claiming that salvation is dependent on ourselves.
Stop pulling us down into your incorrect soteriology alongside Calvinism and Arminianism.
Sorry, but some of us actually understand correct hermeneutics.

This Allen Parr guy is a sneaky calvinist. He recently put out a video stating that Christians should not argue about soteriology and he even claimed that “he is not a calvinist.” But he certainly is, and he can’t explain his positions very clearly. Why can’t they just be forthright?

Allen Part believes he's mocking Arminianism. Sadly, he end up mocking the word of God, and he's so set on his calvinistic ways that he doesn't even realize it.

I’m very thankful that God laid a burden on your heart to address these issues.

Thanks for replying, Leighton. It is disappointing to hear Allen claim that having faith is a work. Paul, in Romans clearly states that faith is NOT works. You, Mike Winger and I'm sure many others have eloquently clarified this understanding. Clearly any faith without Jesus atoning for our sins on the cross would not lead to salvation. It is only Jesus shedding his blood on the cross for all mankind that can lead to salvation. The Bible does however state that we need to believe this to be seen as righteous in Christ. It is really that simple and all Glory is God's .

9:18 That is so STRAW-MAN. Just because I accept God's grace, it doesn't mean that it comes with the ability of BOASTING of it. What Allen is saying here is overgeneralizing. When the prodigal son came back, what did he say? He didn't told his dad "I was wise enough to come back out from a pigsty." He begged his dad to treat him as a slave. Someone can accept God as their savior and still be a humble decent human being. How unfortunate. He is a genuine nice guy and I love his channel. Pray for him people.

I also thought Allen’s representation was incorrect, using a slightly mocking tone of voice when speaking about free will.

Kerrigan Skelly put it perfectly:

If im in the middle of an ocean with sharks surrounding me, and a ships pulls up and throws me a life reserver and tells me take hold to it and I use my choice to grab on it and get saved from those sharks, im not going to boast and say I got saved cause I grabbed on to the life reserver. I wouldnt be able to grab it if the person on the ship didnt even throw it to me.

Allan was anything but unbiased in his presentation. He not only mocked arminianism but unintentionally himself as he pretended to be fair to both views while lumping all who reject calvinism into one big misrepresented pile as usual with calvinists .

If someone offers a gift, do they make you accept the gift irresistibly, or do they say here ihave something free for you because i love you, but its your choice to take it. Hmm?

Calvinists commonly misrepresent opposing views because they have no choice but to do so - lest their own positions are rendered untenable. I'm not sure if it's deliberate sabotage or blindness. Perhaps the answer to that varies between individuals.

15And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”…. Oh the arrogance of Joshua and his family!

Calvinist’s also have a problem with sanctification, as this requires us to make choices…aka…FREE WILL! Obviously, there is much maneuvering on their part, in which to explain both justification and sanctification!
POPE MacArthur celebrates each time someone like Parr and other Calvinists dive down this precarious road!

Let’s pray for our Calvinist sisters and brothers!🇨🇦🙏🏼🇨🇦
