This pre determinism thing is just something had to get off my mind. It feels good when someone else says "Yeah that goes through my mind too". But maybe I'm the only crazy one haha. Or just weird. I hope there is at least one person out there that can relate. Then I will accomplished with this video. This is one of those videos that is truly special for me. I created this exactly how it is as a result of raw weirdness from my brain. I think a lot of As content creators we often create stuff according to what people might want to watch. So the artistic value of the content is rigged/ filtered by the the standard of what get's views or whatever. Let me know you got the message :) (BOTDSS)

Technically, you will never know if your life is predestined or not. You might be predestined to do something crazy thinking youi've proven you have free will, but you were supposed to do that anyways.

Thoughts and decisions are the result of a chain reaction of electrical impulses between neurons. What you experience as "you" is just the sum of all of these neuron firings. How could "you", who is the manifestation of all of your neurons firing be the entity that chooses to start one neuron firing? If you wanted to make a decision, you would have to first decide that you want to make a decision, so you would have had to have decided to decide to start making a decision and so on. In reality, all of these neurons firing are the result of stimuli from our senses perceiving the outside world and the chaos and randomness of biochemistry. That stimuli from the outside world is a result of everything else happening around it and so on, all things being interconnected. So, I would say there is no free will, but there is also no self since the experience of being you, all of your thoughts, decisions, memories and opinions are really the total result of everything that has ever happened in the universe leading up to right now. Personally it makes me feel very peaceful.

+christopherchann I always get the message Chris. Honestly, a comfort zone is meant to be the most calming thing in someone's life when in all actuality, it's the scariest.

your life was predestined to think that ur life was predestined so everything u did to prove your life wasnt predestined was predestined

I was a really awkward kid in high school, didn't really talk to anybody I didn't already know. I graduated and started going to college, the first semester at college, I went to class, and went home, just like high school. The next semester, I stepped out of my comfort zone by getting involved in my school (which I never did in high school) and I started just talking to random people and being more open to social situations, stepping out of my comfort zone once again. I got involved, and within the organizations I got involved with, I made lifelong relationships with the people I met through school. Stepping out of my comfort zone has made me a better person and has ultimately changed my life. Nothing bad ever happened out of stepping out of your comfort zone. Just do it, and open yourself up to new experiences and a new perspective.

the fact that we're able to answer this question shows we have free-will.

Totally agree Chris! I feel that way all the time, possibly due to the way I was raised to believe that I should and shouldn't do certain things!

But recently went on exchange from Australia to Canada, and now that I'm back home I'm definitely trying to get out of that boxed in comfort zone. You are not alone my friend :)

I actually have a bachelors in psychology and I took a neuroscience class where the beginning of the year we discussed this concept. We discussed determinism and how there isn't really free will. However, determinism doesn't eliminate you from doing things. What eliminates you from doing things is if there is no reason for it to pop into your head and/or you don't present it as one of your options. The reason we operate on determinism isn't about not having choices, but operating within the limited amount of options available to us due to circumstances. We go to class because we pay for it, to make the grade, we are genuinely curious. We don't go because we are sick, lazy, busy, etc. We make the choice based on what circumstances effect us the most. In this case your comfort zone is what effects you the most.

I've had that thought run through my brain from time to time and it is just a mind fuck but I think that thought pushes us to get out of our comfort zone

Just one more BOTDSS comment for today!
I have been working on philosophical questions for about 4 years now... this was one of the questions I felt wierded out about too. When you start to think about these types of questions it can get really weird and chaotic, sometimes even scary.
I can also relate about the feeling of leaving a comfort zone, because we are sometimes too hesitant to questions certain things that keep us grounded.
But I dealt with most of my stuff and I think that at the end you come out as a stronger and calmer person. Because most of the time if something bothers us we can make it much better by facing it and learning how to deal with it (avoid opening too many doors at the same time though, I made that mistake and it exhausted me for months on end, even had to take a break from my studies).
For this specific question I found some things that helped me. if we have no free will does that have to mean that life is less beautiful? what if we are just an incredible story? is it boring? no! we can still do everything hoping our story will be of something we love... the mistery is still there and so is the meaning of courage to face life, as only our hope and resilience can actually be a part of this story that has a good ending. If our fears make us give up, it is a story of defeat, so there is still a difference in the possible paths! It all just shifts from choice to an empowering kind of hope. And in the end...from the moment we decide to never give up on our dreams, we will always be at least a story of a dreamer that truly tried everything (and I think that is an absolutely beautiful story to be a part of).
I hope I was not too confusing... sorry about the huge text, these topics are hard to summarize! If you need someone to talk about these topics, send me a message! happy to participate in your path of discovery :)

I have bad social anxiety and didn't have any friends, until one day in my senior year of high school I randomly walked up to someone with my hopes up and wayyy out of my comfort zone and asked this dude if he skates. We then became best friends and still are and helped me make even more friends and through skateboarding of it all.
