If the reasons the total tax burden would go up under labour are because they want non-doms and private schools to pay tax, then actually the tax burden would not go up for the average person.

Tories have increased taxes on the working class over the last 14 years and lowered it for tax-dodging billionaires.
When they say labour will increase taxes, they mean to say they will increase taxes on rich tories and I say that's a good thing

Very misleading as the tax burden doesnt affect most average citizens and working class people

It’s a bit misleading the graph about tax burden at the end. Id suggest that it’s quiet and unhelpful comparison because it’s important to look at a what areas I being tax ie top earners private education etc but also is worth noting things like the conservative manifesto make alterations try and get more votes so whilst on the graph may well short term show this we don’t have the precision or potentially trust in many cases of when the tax rise would come in from a conservative government to cover this short term gain.

Tories tripled our debt with sweet FA to show for it.

Starmer is relying on the fact that people are unhappy with the Tories and saying nothing as if he says anything people don’t like they may well think twice before voting for him.

4:52 is misleading based on who labour want to tax, the avenge tax for everyone isn't going up it's going up for the more wealthy

The big problem with the "tax burden" graph is that it doesn't account for who's paying the tax. The Conservatives are taking money from average people and the other parties are taxing the wealthiest people and corporations.

I'd go as far as saying the way Sky are presenting it is quite disingenuous.

Labours manifesto is just like Kier Starmer - lacking vision, substance and honesty

Jeez, UK is really poor. While we are fighting over £7b Elon Musk just got £45b.

Nice to see a manifesto that focuses on putting the country back on it's feet, that wasn't written in La La land.

It's what MSM is not talking about that we should be really worried about.

Sky...That was like following the pea under the shell trick. Clever how quickly the presenter put the spending in black and green next to each other. When comparing it to other parties. When it's about revenue against total expenditure. Stacking them would show that the conservative party are bribing the country vote with more debt.

People cannot vote in the UK general election if not registered to vote.

Those wanting to be registered to vote need to be registered before 11:59PM (23:59) 18 June 2024 as there will be a lot of people registering to vote.

No one can enable votes in the UK general election for those not registered to vote in the UK.

The Electoral Commission has more information.

Other countries have a higher tax burden than us and outperform us year after year, like Germany. Theres a difference to a 38% tax burden on an economy growing at 2-3% per annum and a 38% tax burden on an economy that's basically stagnat with shrinking GDP per capita. The first is what Labour are aiming for, the latter is the UK economy under the Tories right here and now.

Are the Labour figures believable? From this analysis, it appears they're not going to do much. What's the point if having a government that basically dies very little?😢

If we actually fund and invest in vital services - NHS, police, schools, prisons, courts - more people will be healthy, supported, educated, and be able to support themselves financially AND pay into tax. If people are suffering from untreated illness, postponed operations, lack of social service interventions, lack of mental health support, lack of SEND provision in schools, being robbed and stabbed, they're more likely to be out of work. And that's before we get into the actual hjman suffering involved.
