With leader Ed Davey having a lot of fun on the campaign trail, many were asking what the Lib Dem's actual policies were. Thankfully, on Monday they released their manifesto and we're on hand to explain everything you need to know and their key pledges.

Our mission is to explain news and politics in an impartial, efficient, and accessible way, balancing import and interest while fostering independent thought.

TLDR is a completely independent & privately owned media company that's not afraid to tackle the issues we think are most important. The channel is run by a small group of young people, with us hoping to pass on our enthusiasm for politics to other young people. We are primarily fan sourced with most of our funding coming from donations and ad revenue. No shady corporations, no one telling us what to say. We can't wait to grow further and help more people get informed. Help support us by subscribing, engaging and sharing. Thanks!

When one of a party’s basic tenets is to stop dumping sewage into the river, it makes you wonder what the hell is going on in a country.

Interesting to see Lib Dems shift to the left of Labour

One point, On Constitutional Reform, Lib dems specify that they want STV on the manifesto on their website. it says: Ensure no politician can take you for granted, by introducing proportional representation by the Single Transferable Vote for electing MPs, and local councillors in England.

It has been a tradition for some Tory voters that if they are upset at the Tories, they will vote for Lib Dems as a form of “protest vote”
The Tories can’t even conduct proper campaigning. Our dear PM left the 80th anniversary of D-Day ceremony early… Shame

Taxing the oil companies and big banks to pay for public services. YES! Someone has the guts to say it. Labour could learn something from this

“They’re currently on track to win about 35 seats”

Lib Dems: *You underestimate my power*

Legalising cannabis and taxing it would bring in billions alone

When this came out I immediately signed up to volunteer. We can be upset that such good polices are "wasted" on a party that won't win or we can be part of the solution

The manifesto did specify STV as the proportional representation of choice. Pretty bad one to miss, especially when you explicitly call out it as not saying

I'm starting to think that Ed Davey might actually make a decent prime minister.

I will definitely be voting for the Lib Dems. Definitely a better choice than the two party system we currently have.

I think at this point Lords reform is a waste of political capital. The irony is that, at present, the unelected chamber is acting more in the benefit of Britain than the Tories. Equally, PR for the Commons is far far more important, and it would be a mistake to do both with the same parliamentary term

More leftist, pro-EU and democratics than Labour. I'm far left, but I would support them to see if they keep their promises.

Ed Davey is doing a great job of showing people that he’s not some detached politician with no understanding of how people live their lives.

That's a really good manifesto, quite a few catchy policy goals that don't sound like vapid pandering, but still have a broad appeal. If I was a Brit they'd definitely have my vote.

I like it when politicians don't take themselves too seriously actually

Havent watched the video yet. But im voting lib dems to give the tories as few seats as possible.

Im 18 and i believe the tories do not care for the youth, as if you could even say they care for anyone at all but themselves
