i love how, among Joker's list of crimes, there's "improper labeling of meat products" and right after there's "cannibilism", then later there's "attempted omnicide" followed by "littering"

You forgot about joker's most evil moment. When he handed batman an envelope, when batman opens the envelope he finds a coupon for new it's expired!

It's amazing how they got Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill back from the iconic 90's kid show to play again their iconic characters for these dark mature games. What a way to symbolize the growth we the fans got

13:00 It's implied that Joker KNEW that Hugo was aware of his long track record of lying about his past, and that arrogant Strange would never believe him or fall for anything.
So Joker told him the whole truth, and laughed silently at Hugo denying it all

”You of all people should know… there’s plenty wrong with me!”

All the greatness of the animated Mark Hamill Joker without the limitations of a kids show.

Arkhamverse Joker is definitely an S-tier villain.

22:22 I don't think he's afraid of death. He's afraid of an ordinary death. He wants to go out in a blaze of glory that people will be talking about for generations, preferably at Batman's hands.

Arkham Joker is easily the best depiction of the character in all of media. From the design and personality alone, he is as funny as he is terrifying.

"That's actually pretty funny" Some of the most impactful last words ever!. Like you said Vile, the Joker could truly find humour in everything, including the irony that Batman would have truly saved him if he hadnt attacked him despiste all that he's done.

Arkham joker canonically committed some of the worst atrocities of any joker, according to the city stories and his hallucination dialogue in Arkham Knight

Troy Baker's portrayal of a young Joker in Arkham Origins is severely underrated, IMO

"MAN"

I've watched the intro enough times to almost match the whole 50 minute run time. Makes me laugh every time.

I think Hugo's conclusion and yours were pretty spot on. The fact that the Joker only got defensive at two points in their interview should be highlighted: 1) Hugo telling him that fearing death is common, and implying something about the Joker could actually be common 2) Catching him in a potential lie regarding his 12 different backstories. I think this proves that the Joker is nowhere near as tragic a character or actually as crazy as he tries to come off as. Jason Todd as the Red Hood in the original Under the Red Hood comic actually argued this before as well. I think Joker was just some dude who was indeed down on his luck and MAYBE some bad stuff happened to him. But I don't think it was as dramatic or unique as his backstories try to make out. He likely made up those stories to garner some form of attention for himself and to make him feel as though his suffering was not "common." He dearly wants attention and for the world/Batman to pay attention to him, and so he dresses super garishly and does horrible things not because he is actually that mentally ill, but because he wants to feel like his pain is especially important and essentially justifies his horrid actions.

The thing I remember about this version of the Joker was how he wanted to bring Batman down to his level.
At the end of the first Arkham game, he tries to turn Batman into another rampaging monster, with a helicopter camera showing their fight to the entire city of Gotham. He wanted to turn Batman into a monster just like him, and then put him on display to completely destroy Batman's reputation as Gotham's beloved protector. But when Batman cures himself and ruins his plan, the Joker completely loses interest in the fight and spends most of the time posing for the cameras, while leaving his goons to deal with Batman.

After growing up watching the animated series, it was awesome to play Asylum in 2009 and hear The Joker saying “bitch”, “damn”, and “hell”. It’s like they grew up with me
