Today, I'm going to show how to install the Wyze Cam V4 using the Wyze Lamp Socket to power it up. This can be an easy setup that you can do and you don't need to worry about running and routing the power cable to the nearest power outlet.

I noticed you mentioned that the output is 1 amp. However, the version you used (version 4) requires 2 amps, which contradicts your statement. On the other hand, version 3 has lower amp requirements, so it would be accepted over version 4.

Tell Wyze that the lamp socket should be modified to work under 110-240V. I know they listen to you!

I'm using a v4, a lamp socket, and the 20' extention. The extention is usb to usb. The cable that comes with the socket is usb to micro usb. The socket won't connect to the app and I was told it's because I'm not using the cable that comes with the socket. My setup is light socket to 20' wyze extention cable to v4. The camera works but the socket isn't recognized in the app.

Will this work with any of the wyze pan cams?

If they made the socket adapter multi mode power (like a charger) it could be great to use with a USB hub tucked under your eaves and power all the cameras on an entire side of your house with a single light bulb adapter. But, as usual, Wyze falls short.
