Excel Tip #4: Using Goal Seek to Calculate a Value

Another one of my favorite Excel tools is Goal Seek. You can use Goal Seek if you know the result that you want from a formula, but are unsure what input value is needed to get the desired result.

In this tutorial we will show you how to use Goal Seek to calculate the sales price that gives a desired gross profit on a known cost of goods.

I have a mac. I tried using goal seek but it says it can't find a solution. Is there any way to fix this?
