I'm currently working as a coordinator/digitalization leader at a major construction firm in the nordics and have always been curious/fascinated by data and how we can use it to be more efficient in our work. As I am though, not getting any younger and have not spent my youth learning how to code (although I actually wish I had) I still somehow feel an urge to learn new things. As a BI report developer, approx 5 years experience I really like this video because you are telling people on how BI projects work irl. The most important thing I have learned is to never "trust" my client on just the words or visions they say. I need to test it inside the organisation. I always suggest my clients that I can be hired for 1-2 short PoCs before the "real" project even is possible. I feel they are less stresses with PoC budgeting. I try to avoid projects where they just want me to say "yes I can build this" before checking if it is even possible...for my good nights sleep😆 Starting on a small scale and lowering expectations can be very very helpful. And also important to be a good listener when it comes to super users.
