The Steelcase warranty thing in Europe is so crazy to me, I was 100% set on buying a Gesture instead of an Aeron and then I saw one reddit comment and I immediatly changed my choice. 7 years less only because I live in a different continent is so weird...

I spent the last 22 years sitting in a chair I got for $70 from Office Depot. Foam seat (totally flat now), tall executive-style mesh back with a foam head rest, and no arms because they were terrible. Finally thinking about replacing it... perhaps with a Haworth Fern. It's just hard to find a store where I could try one first to make sure it's right for me.

23:04 Truer words have never been said. I also see tons of ErgoChair Pros in people's setups on social media and every time I see that, I die a little inside. This chair looks good design-wise, but the build quality and comfort, which are more important, just make this chair a terrible deal. Autonomous just resells generic Chinese chairs that are very poor quality with a huge markup on them coz of the Autonomous branding.

Great list. I have my Steelcase Amia on the way thanks largely in part to the reviews from BTOD. Got to try it for a week before buying it through my local dealer as well. Keep up the great work!

Can't try the higher-end chairs in my part of Canada, so it's "sight unseen" for me, as you guys say. Thanks to your content, I understood why I would hate most Herman Miller chairs but feel confident to go Steelcase Gesture. Will gladly use a link if you have one. As feedback, I do find it counter-intuitive that you would place Herman Miller in the S-Tier. Policies and quality are there, but their best chairs are so polarizing I understood that you guys have a "sight unseen" hesitation for them. I don't feel this is an S-tier worthy position to be in, meaning the likelihood of someone not liking their product being significant enough to warrant that.

Will you guys please do this with the 24/7 chairs like era galaxy and the concept seating chairs? I want a large plush leather alternative chair with a head rest and tilt lock recline. The arm rests have to be able to move out of the way because I work on top of the table.

I really wanted to buy the Haworth Fern because I’m a tall guy (6’ 2”) but I ended up going with the Leap just because of Steelcase’s warranty and longevity of that chair. Also, I wish Greg would do more reviews because he is pretty much the same frame size as me :D

I made the mistake of buying a Secretlab Titan chair because I was living in Singapore at the time and they were a local brand, so I wanted to support them. It was constantly squeaking and making weird noises, the comfort was a joke, some parts didnt even fit properly and worst of all, the fake leather finish started peeling after 6 months of use. I sold it off and bought a 2nd hand Aeron (classic) instead. I should have done that from the beginning. Perhaps they have improved since then (back in 2016/17), but personally I would rank Secretlab (and any other race-car chair) no higher than D

Haworth warranty in EMEA is pretty convoluted. The gas cylinder has a 2 year warranty, the fabric 3 years (I think) and some other parts 10 years.
Also, they only allow 8h/5 days a week of usage to honor it.
Was considering buying a Fern based on your reviews, but after learning about their policy, ended going for an Aeron.

i just bought a used aeron remastered fully loaded for $850 lol and i know you can get cheaper on facebook marketplace but i dont think my parents would have let me done that so i got it at a liquidator place instead. i get it friday bc they’re gonna swap out the seat since the salesman was really nice. he also didn’t know what the posture fix was and didn’t charge me extra for it LOL

Have you tried/tested diablochairs? They make gaming and ergonomic chairs for a low price I don’t know about they quality of them I’ve never tried them and also I couldn’t find any reviews about them.
