I've been sitting in Herman Miller chairs for years, they are really hard to beat in terms of build quality and the 12 year warranty they include with every chair. But each of their most popular chairs are quite different from each other. For that reason I believe it's important to get an opportunity to sit in each to decide which is best for your own specific needs. In this video, I will do just that and share my opinions to help you decide which is best for you.

I enjoy sitting in my Aeron Classic a lot. I got it second hand 7 years ago and it still works like new. The reclining feature and the breathable mesh are amazing. Most of the time I'm fully reclined.

Someone retired and left a Herman Miller earon in my office. I swapped chairs as soon as I realized no one sits there. The chair is definitely comfortable.

The Aeron size chart recommended to me is B. I’m 72kg 180cm. My legs are long. I
Read some people complains about the hard edge. So I’ve tried both B and C. I’m glad I did. The C is perfect. I have no problem with front edge. Give a try you float and don’t feel any hard edges.

The Mirra 2 is a great chair for most people, but the mesh does cause pressure points if you're heavy (unlike the one found on the Aeron) and the seat pan can be too firm which can hurt bigger thighs. Thankfully, the Aeron size c doesn't have any of these issues and is especially comfortable if you have longer legs that don't touch the seat edge.

When I first sat down in the Aeron my back pain melted away. I was going to buy it the second time I came back but when sitting in longer noticed my tailbone hitting the the frame underneath the edge at the back of the seat. I've read if you are in between seat sizes this happens (I'm smack bang on 6 foot) Apparently I'm one of the unlucky ones.

I LOVED how it supported my lower and mid back like no other chair (inc the Embody and Steelcase chairs) and it feels like now I've sat in that nothing else compares and I just cannot get comfortable, but the damn seat issue I cannot buy it!

Got an Embody last month after using a DX racer for about 5 years. The first couple days were not very comfortable, I was adjusting it back and forth but about the second week in, it got dialed in and it is really comfy now. Chose the Embody over the Aeron b/c I like to sit in relaxing posture at times, and the Embody allows me to sit in relaxing positions like feet on etc. Aeron seems to be work position only, not play. Will probably get the Atlas head rest as well when it comes out later this year.

Great review. For such a pricey purchase, i really recommend trying the chairs in person first. I was pretty sold on the Aeron based on aesthetics and function but after testing out all the chairs at the Herman Miller store today, I went with the Embody. My biggest issue with sitting long hours is back discomfort. The embody just felt more supportive and comfortable.

I’ve been using the Mirra 2 for 10 years and no issues so far. It’s as good as the day I got it. I find it more comfortable than even the Aero. I just which it had a headrest

I've been using a Mirra 2 I purchased used for over five years. I just had the seatpan and arms replaced for $180 total at the Herman Miller outlet store. I'll probably be good to go for another five years. I'm 6'2", 280 lbs. and sit for six to eight hours every weekday and have experienced no back issues, pressure spots etc. Great chair!

Every arm rest won't work when your normally working behind a desk. It's simply not possible unless they rotatie perpendicular to the table. I always need to lower them below table desk height

I unknowingly used a HM chair for about a year. I can’t really say there was a major difference

Having used an Aeron for about 4 years (daily for 8 hours a day), I can second your observations about the seat mesh being too firm. Personally, I prefer a seat with a tradition cushion and mesh for the seat back. One can obtain such chairs for much less cost and bypass the Herman Miller premium.

Good video, great that you pointed out the pro and cons/ differences of the HM chairs. I didnt test all of them but at least for the Aeron, Mirra and Embody I had the same experience and kept the Embody.

I was between the *Aeron* and the *Embody* for my home office, where I sit easily 10h/day or more every day, for work, education, and recreation with rarely any breaks in between. I followed your advice and went to try them both in person. I was especially uncertain about the Aeron size that would fit me at 185cm and 90kg.

To my surprise, both Aeron sizes (B and C) could not fit me. Specifically, the space between armrests was not wide enough to have my elbows sitting straight down from my shoulders, and I was already feeling cramped after 10-15 minutes of sitting in the furniture store with shoulder pain setting in. The Embody on the other hand, with its big (and adjustable) armrest width and wide flat armrests didn't cause such an issue for me.

I had watched and read tens and tens of reviews across the internet for both chairs (and even more for others) and it's beyond me that no review ever mentioned the problem of the spacing between armrests. I wasn't even aware that that could be an issue on a chair, let alone on the Aeron, given how adjustable and praised its armrests are and even more so compared to those of the Embody.

I ended up buying the Embody Logitech edition online because I liked the looks and found it a bit cheaper than the standard Embody in the shop. I have it for 6 months with *extensive* daily use. It's worth every cent. It's the most comfortable chair I've ever had and even after such use I've never had a single issue in any way in terms of discomfort, pain, or construction quality/materials. This thing is built like a tank. And I love how it allows me to sit in less "correct" positions when I relax and watch a movie at the end of the day, which the Aeron can't do.

The commonly reported noise of this chair hasn't been a concern at all BTW. Is it stealth-silent? No, it makes a "stretchy" sound if you move laterally, as the different backrest layers rub together. But then again every chair will creak a bit if you push it. Did I ever notice it making noise while I sit on it and work? Never, not once. Even when I'm not using my noise-canceling headphones, which I have on half the time anyway.

My home office chair is the Cosm in the exact spec and color as shown. It replaced my Aeron chair that I've been using for over 8 years. My son uses it now so they really are a good bargain if you think about the longevity.

I chose the Cosm because of that hammock like feel. It feels like my body is absorbed into the chair, and I actually like the leaf arm. It's not adjustable, but it give me perfect resting point for using the keyboard, and it's the perfect angle to use as an arm rest when I recline and put my feet up on an ottoman/foot rest that I keep in the office.

One thing about the tilt though is that my wife who is 5'4 and 108 pounds cannot recline. But for me the recline is natural. So perhaps it's not the best for people of lighter body build.

We have multiple homes and I wish I had enough money to furnish all the work chairs with an Aeron or a Cosm.
So for the summer home, we bought our son the Sayl with adjustable arms and seat depth.
I was actually pretty surprised how good it was. If you don't mind the rubber like back, then it's worth a look.

But for me, the Cosm is my favorite, although I am thinking about getting an Eames Aluminum Executive chair. I sat in my mom's again recently and it was very nice and sleek. The leather was holding up very nicely for its age as well. Guess I'm getting old.

Finally a review on the entire lineup from Herman Miller! Still on the fence about Aeron vs Mirra!

0:42 Aeron build quality and control apparently dropped, receiving two uneven chairs in a row. Always check that the seatpan is level with the floor when receiving them!

I always loved the comfort vs. Steelcase but the armrests that moved when you move were a deal breaker for me. It continually caused my mouse to wiggle, and when gaming that movement would transfer down my arm.

Some people said they couldn't sit longer than 3 hours in the Cosm because of that way the back works. I sat in it for a about 10 mins an felt amazing but I will need to work in it for 10 hours a day.

Don't sleep on the Celle. On the cheaper side, but it might be my favorite Herman Miller
