This trailer reminded me of something that happened to me back in third year of highschool. I met this guy. We became really good friends. My bullies approached him one day and asked if we were dating.
We still talked afterwards, but he started putting distance. It just wasn’t the same.

We need more like this. The struggle and stigma is real. Even if they do not turn out to become a couple, the boys deeply care for each other and this kind of friendship is very rare and it should not be stigmatized to something it isn't. Just because you deeply care for someone of the same gender, doesn't mean you're gay. There is nothing wrong about this. Who are the people to judge any relationship but their own? Nobody has the right to judge other people's relationships (friendships are relationships too)

Love between two people can be purely platonic. I was friends with a gay guy, but his other female friends managed to persuade him that I was infatuated with him and he ended our friendship. It wasn't true; I just cared deeply about him, even when he opened up to me about his relationship with another guy; I supported him through the ups and downs of it. Why do people have to interfere in friendships and turn something innocent into something sordid?😞

I've been married to my wife 39 years. I am now 64 years old. But I am still very much in love with my best friend Rick from high school. Haven't seen him in decades but I still miss the closeness we had together.

I remember my first week of primary school . This other boy came up and introduced himself to me. From that day onwards we became best friends. We grew up and he moved to England. For some reason we lost contact with each other. Two years ago he called me out of the blue and I cried knowing that he was good and I missed him. He didn’t talk much as he was at a friend’s place when he called. A couple weeks later I got word that he died. I lost a significant part of my life that day.

HIT ME LIKE A BRICK. I've lost count of the times I cried. Incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking.

Why do we let the opinions of others ruin our lives? Life can be so cruel

THIS MOVIE WAS SO HEAVY TO THE POINT IT WAS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE. THE EMOTION, THE DRAMA IS SO MOVING AND DEVASTATING AT THE SAME TIME. I WAS IN TEARS ALL THROGHOUT.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where emotions between guy friends are frowned upon and seen as strange and disgusting, whereas the real truth is that it is very healthy to experience such friendship! Just because two friends of the same sex (I feel like with guys, maybe not so much with girls) have a deeply emotional relationship doesn't make them a couple. It is good to have such friendships without ties to romance. Friendships are also relationships. This is a very eye-opening, educational movie. Parents teach your children, especially your boys, it is okay to have guy friends and be really good, deep, emotional, non-romantic friends with other boys. Excellent movie, raw acting and emotions, and unflinching truths!! Bravo!

This reminds me of my own experience. But I wasn’t a child at that time. I was very close roommate in college. We slept together and did almost everything together except studying (he was in another department). Our friends, men and women were interested about our relationship and they kept asking questions if we were boyfriends. Well, you know people. We were already adults at that time, and we sometimes made a joke about it and we didn’t feel uncomfortable. so our relationship survives through college till now. He has three four kids now.

This movie is so realistic that I almost suffered from my own trauma of losing a friend while watching. Well filmed 💯

Males in our society are not allowed to love each other. Whether platonic or not, love should never be stifled. In fact, I hope the relationship they depict here is platonic - we do not see examples of that. Males need to be shown they can FEEL, that they can be emotional, and yes, that they can love each other. Love does not have to equal sexual attraction, though there is certainly nothing wrong if it leads to that. We screw our males up so badly, that they end up shutting down their emotions altogether, or priviledge only the negative, violent tendencies.

The relationship between these two boys should be allowed to be whatever it is. In reality, it probably would not. This an important film.

Very good movie, and not as the typical coming-of-age movies, but with a different style. Dambrine is very good in the lead. Also, Emilie Dequenne who played the mother is also amazing. I hope this movie gets nominated for oscar for Best Director.

I had a best friend in grade school and one day he didn't show up at school. I went to his house and his father told me his mother took him, his brother and sister and moved back to NJ. I never saw or heard from him again till after 30 some years later on Facebook. We email each other once in awhile. Hopefully soon I will get to re introduce myself to him in person again.

We can only hope and try each of us as we live on to instill in the next generation of males that two males at any age group being close emotionally and physically does NOT make them wrong for feeling that way less much openly expressing it between themselves and openly in eye view of others to see.

Real cinematic art. Not the garbage Hollywood puts out.

this movie is heartbreaking, it is too much to bare for a 12year-old kid, he will take with him the sorrow and regret upon growing up. Let's be all kind and understanding to the relationship of other people let them live their lives without hesitations and boundaries.
