Use the VLOOKUP function to lookup first and lastname in a list. When using VLOOKUP with multiple columns you can create a helper column and join the columns in your lookup value.

This provides a simple solution. The link below demonstrates a more advanced scenario.

Clever idea for searching two fields. Thanks! Before combining names, I used trim on each row because the records were from a database that inserted padding to make a fixed length in the extract available to me.

Great video, keep it up Computer Gaga, if you haven't already, you can also turn this into a YouTube short. I learned this without the sound.

Help! So i have this problem where i have to VLOOKUP some sport teams names, the problem is that the names are all in captial letters that i have to turn to upper and lower case. EXE. MANCHESTER CITY = Manchester City. The only problem is that i have to do this in two steps first i have to bring the information with a VLOOKUP and then use a PROPER formula, and beacuse all of my document is formulated, the only solution is to bring the names, and then type each one manually to the correct upper and lower case format. Is their a way to make this only using one formula?
