Ford Focus Mk1 (2004) 1,8 TDCi smoke and noise

My Ford Focus is producing a lot of smoke and an ugly noise when the engine is cold and it stood still for a couple of hours.
Also the engine looses torque.... But after a while all symptoms disappear and car runs normal... any ideas what may be the problem ? I have already blended the EGR valve, but it didn't help at all :/

Yes, indeed, it was the injector No.1, it was electrically disfunct. Changed it and all works well, more than 3000 km later, no problem, even when it's freezing

Just to know it : 1. You dont rev a cold engine that much ( it can damage the engine...)
2.Every engine is produceing smoke when it's cold (even the engine can smoke...)
3. Wait till the water is around 90 Celsius, but anyway before revving the car you should wait 10-15 minutes until the oil gets the optimal preassure, and the engine is warmed up enough.




It can loose some tourqe until the engine is not at the optimal temperature and your idle run is bigger the the optimal (1000-1200).Take a look at it when it's on normal.

I have TDCI 1.8 Focus mk1 (facelift 2004) and this hapened to me when turbo was dieing... I bought completely new factory turbo, It purs like kitten now :)

I have identical problem with my focus. All injectors repared and tested on Hatrige machine, EGR blocked, Turbo was dirt and he is now cleaned, ECU changed, Maf senzor cheanged... BUT problem is still here. Pleas help me, what I must to do to fix this problem? How did you discovered that the problem is injector? I was on original ford dijagnostic several times and NO ererros every time. Pressure of turbo and CR pump is ideal, injectros works perfekt but still in the morning I have that problem. After several starting and stoping, problems disapered for the nex day. PLEASE matey HEEEELP.

It looks like launch control except of the smoke

sounds like bad fuel injectors which would explain the smoke because of excessive fuel being injected from leaking injectors

So what was the cause of the smoke then? ws it injectors? Was it the EGR?

*co s tím nakonec bylo?* Začínám řešit něco podobného, jen za studena a o hodně méně, jen sem tam to zaklepe, cukne a vyletí trochu černého kouře. Jak se to trochu ohřeje, tak jede jak drak.

I'm having the same problem with my 53 plate. It sounds like turbo

its turbo problem that noise is from turbo

Turbo turbo! turbo loosen shaft oil passing in the exhaust manifold

madonna che schifo... e poi dicono che i diesel inquinano.... hahahaha comunque questo 1.8 tdi ha il sound di UN TRATTORE hahahahah
