The mother of the teen shot by police speaks out about her son's criminal charges

Kieria Franklin is defending her 17-year-old son who police say ran from them carrying a gun. The teen now faces several charges after a police officer shot him earlier this month. Franklin admits her son, Mekhi Franklin, had a weapon. Police say it was a stolen 9-millimeter handgun.

She is not a mother, SHE IS A FAILURE. She is still trying to shift the blame from her son, to the police. He wasn't gunned down, he was apprehended after he used the gun to attack another person, and attempted to escape from justice. Accountability is obviously not in this so called mothers vocabulary, no surprise her son has none. Focused on the wrong thing, why tf is your 17 year old son shooting people? “He had a gun cuz he was scared, we live in Baltimore City!” Uh, so what? There’s a GOOD REASON we don’t allow CHILDREN to own firearms. Any decent and responsible gun owner is cringing at this so hard they’re probably bursting blood vessels! To this woman directly, I have sympathy for you, I can’t imagine having a child harmed like this in any way at all, but your son is a criminal, point blank period. He brought the consequences on himself, and considering this is how you’re responding to this, ima just throw this out there: you probably could’ve done a better job at being a mother.
