I could be wrong, but I think those notches are for brass dogs so that you can mark stair stringers quickly and easily

Yeah and after making things a thousand times I hate using my speed square lol. Just find it’s way faster and easier with a straight edge or a chalk line🤷‍♂️

You just have to be careful that this big squares not beat up and dirty!

If so, it can scratch up and mark up the material you’re working on.

Theres a new form of measurement out now that's much more effective than Imperial. It's called the Metric System. Some day Americans will catch up with the rest of the world 😂😂😂
