If you were ever curious as to whether or not you could use a JDM transmission to replace your tired worn out 4 cylinder accord auto transmission.

I had same situation...replaced transmission fluid with Honda dealership source only. Hooked up a cooler. Now looking at the TransLab Correction Kit for this trans.

I had a 2000 Acura TL (same as the 6th gen V6 Accord) and the 2nd transmission failed in 2015 with 220k on the odometer and 130k on the post '05 transmission. Phased clutch engagement is what you're referring to.

The premature breakdown of the clutches inside of their drums deposits debris into the valve body and torque converter, causing the unit to overheat and inevitably fail. This is why the P0740 code (torque converter clutch solenoid circuit) is the kiss of death, which usually shows up shortly before the transmission starts slipping and bucking.

Needless to say that these transmission problems plagued Honda until around 2006 on almost every model in their United States line up. Shame on Honda for never offering more than an extended new car warranty during the hay day of the failures.

I love this mcja transmission, shifts firm and the higher gearing really gives you a better take off

This video helps a lot. So just to confirm 3 total sensors you had to switch over. I know for sure one is speed sensor and one next it ? Thanks

I swapped mine to a mcja and it won't shift now. It's throwing a ratio match code, did you have to do anything else with the tcm?

Any fault codes come up at all with the JDM MCJA swap?

Knock on wood I have had four and six, they have been doing good, I know I change the speed sensor and every where I ask even on Amazon, they said the short speed sensor fit in my six even AI said that it should be the short sensors, but advise me to church the manual and we all know the manual comes with the car don’t tell you nothing not even tell you which is the radio fuse ! But anyway come to find out the long speed sensor worked and the flashing D4 stop flashing ! And the transmission worked fine ! It’s best to question everyone and everything ! And really check it your self instead of relying on other people companies !

Did you by any chance have to use the usdm transmission range sensor or did you keep the Japanese one on and did it trigger a check engine light?

Was this the mcja trans? And is it still running well?
