Nice. I would have put a strong magnet on the part that bows up and screw a washer onto the frame. Magnet and washer sunk in to the wood of course. Magic! :)

any issue with the sandbox collecting rainwater??? I noticed the gaps in the wood that will let the water in

Just wondering, why put a floor to the sandpit? Why not just put a weedmat on the ground and sand on top ?
