You can do everything in Ableton what you have done in Studio One. Drag and drops, saving clips etc, it's even possible to convey something from your previous projects with its all fx chain. And as for the mixing section, you're able to do that without dealing with popping up windows (that's what had made me switch to Ableton from FL)

I am Reaper user for years on MIDI programing, miring and mastering and start to learn Ableton for my live performance

I used ableton & studio one but I like more logic, because of it's simplicity.
Ableton is best for audio editing,
logic best for fast workflow,
while studio one handles audio very well!

clever video concept. what you both wish was different in your preferred daw and then see what, if any cross over exists

I scrolled through the comments and I didn't see anyone mention that when you hover over a send knob, the info bar at the bottom left shows the name of the return track. Stop counting.

S1 has a bit of every other DAW, the funny thing is that main ones like PT, Qbase, Logic, and Ab Live are still copy each other and S1 copy them all

I have both Daws and have used them for years. Studio One suits me better. I use Ableton to do jam sessions with Push. If an idea for a track comes out of it, I'll finish it in Studio One.

The best Part of Studio one is
Macros
Solid workflow
Pipeline
Chord, arrangement and video track
Only daw which provides show page nd mastering page

Something i really need in studio one is
Modulation!

I wish ableton had scissors tool in piano roll and that it had low latency like studio one. These affect my workflow in live

For me the killer difference is Studio One having a piano roll that can be maximized. I'm a keyboard player. In Ableton when I record MIDI of chords and a melody simultaneously the notes look microscopic in the bottom piano roll and if I zoom in I loose track of the time placement of the different events. However if you need to jam with loops, well, Ableton is better, no question.

you can actually assign melodyne as sample editor so you dont have to wait for audio to transfer though it makes it little difficult to check vocal in context of backing track

You can actually get shorter notes in studio one, if you are using the pattern mode. It has a repeat feature, which let's you create trap hats and similar things very easily. Plus the pattern mode has some other useful features for beatmaking

I like grouping channels and making a global FX chain for those tracks. For instance, if I need an EQ across all my tracks, like using a high-pass filter on everything not bass related, to make room for the bass. Super quick and easy, plus it saves a lot of CPU compared to dropping an EQ on each track that needs it.
