Toyota Prius+ MPV review - CarBuyer

The Toyota Prius+ is a larger seven-seater MPV version of the popular Prius hatchback. It uses the same combination of an electric motor and petrol engine to stunning effect -- it's the only seven-seater model on the market that emits less than 100g/km of CO2. Don't expect driving thrills from behind the wheel though, the Prius+ prefers to be driven slowly and smoothly -- floor the throttle and the whine from the automatic gearbox soon becomes intrusive. The seven seats are arranged over three rows, and a huge panoramic glass roof -- fitted as standard ­-- floods the interior with light.

I usually like powerful diesel engines, but this car is really great! It's really a different way of travelling but not necessarily a bad one. I have had many occasions to drive this car as a company car and I like it really much. It goes great around corners (for a MPV) and it is real fun to discover the economical potential without being a traffic block...

Perfect car for cabbing or family and city driving, no diesel equivalent at all. Smooth cvt and great economy, enough power when need it, very versatile, not the biggest mpv but the smartest for sure, not ugly, typical Japanese design. I love it

Most Prius Vs are sold in North America, and they come with the NiMh battery. However, the European and Asian models get the lithium ion battery, but does not have the same capabilities as the NiMh.

Our 2.1 turbo Mercedes C class gets 60mpg so i see very little positives of a hybrid. I don't know why the government backs them when its just a petrol engine when only a little bit of extra power comes from an electric.
