In all honesty, InGen probably designed the creatures to be compatible for ease of care.

Now the question is if a blood transfusion inbetween a carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaur would be possible.

Tbf Klayton already convinced this aspect of the movie for me being plausible, especially since InGen, a company that resurrected Triceratops perfectly in the early to mid 1980s, should also be able to create dinosaurs that have compatible blood types with each other in case of an exact situation such as this.

Also, let’s remember that the movie before Fallen Kingdom already established that just hybridizing a T-Rex and Velociraptor is possible in-universe, so it’s not impossible for a blood transfusion between the two to work out like an entire hybrid

I dont get why they didnt do the transfusion with a Galli. Easier, less dangerous, and they’re more closely related to

I recall the girl saying it had to be a specific type with specific physical traits and the closes one to match was the t-rex.

There were allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Suchomimus but Rexy was the most compatible of the bunch. And even then, they weren't certain if it was gonna work. I wonder now I'd the blood might have affected blue and was what allowed her to breed in the third movie...although rexy couldn't breed on her own. I'd wish they would explore that in further movies that theme of crichton of the raptors able to breed.

They’re both Coelurasaurian theropods, so maybe…

Perhaps the scientists used the sequence that codes for the antigen markers on the red blood cells from the frog DNA to patch up the missing segments of Dinosaur genetic code. Since the antigens on the red blood cells would be identical the transfusion probably wouldn’t cause any problems.

like how cat can get a blood transfusion from a dog once but it will not go the other way around

Thanks for that! I was hoping it could be explained.

Fun fact: Rexy, Blue, indominus, indoraptor and possibly scorpius rex all share some of their DNA

Honestly the blood transfusion scene was far more believable than the scene with the carnotaurus hunting while fleeing a volcanic eruption

Agreed I love it when the science makes sense it’s always a thing I think about in movies but I’m not a scientist

This is like a human getting a transfusion from like a lemur

It's Jurassic Park, literally the whole series is trying to apply real science to a fictional world.

Definitely something I was hoping to see with this series what is for them to bring in updated dinosaurs

First off they already have a few heavy hitters that are going to be around for a long time so it's not like the old designs would just completely disappear so what's the addition of hybrids they have the full excuse to give us dinosaurs that are closer to what modern science would suggest is true whilst still giving us theme park monsters in the form of stuff like the indominus Rex in the various other hybrids created

Interesting... This helps deepen the details I can inject into the new book

Klayton Fioriti did a video with a palaeontologist and he asked about this. He said if you were to do a transfusion on a Velociraptor, the better option would have been Gallimimus

It is possible (speaking hypothetically, of course), it’s called xenotransfusion.

While not the same, fun fact, antiserums used in veterinary science are made with beagle blood, at least in Australia, so while there is a risk of shock injecting a paralysis tick anti serum into a cat, it's done routinely, and serum IS blood.. So I don't think it's far fetched.
