Trump: We have to stop this and have peace

Media: He's inciting violence!

The FBI: Yeah there was no insurrection lmao

He told them to go home and respect peace, law and order. What use is condemnation?
Protesting is the right of the people so he was within his rights to encourage protesters to peacefully do so. If they decided to do otherwise, he isn't responsible.

I remember watching this unfold in real time. The hotdog stands scattered about, the insurrectionists slowly moving towards the Capitol building, some crawling on the walls like cockroaches when there were perfectly accessible stairs right next to them, people getting inside and going hog wild. People exploring. it was like a fucked up unguided tour. People attempting to move further into the building, crowding against a door...Then the shooting started. A woman got shot and it suddenly wasn't a laughing matter anymore. Human lives were at stake, but the rioting didn't end there. Congress members were hiding in their rooms, throughout the whole ordeal many were waiting for Trump to say something, but nothing really happened except him posting about what Mike Pence did (which I find to be an incitement of violence considering there were people with lowered inhibitions due to the rush of being in a riot who also were ready to blindly do anything for Trump) and other scattered tweets. Then this video was posted, finally we got a message from our president! But no, instead of a mature, responsible plea for them to stop, he tried to play both sides. He simultaneously told the crowd they were loved, that their anger was justified, repeated things that would keep them angry but at the same time tried to damage control by saying they needed to leave. It was the same in effect as a mild-mannered teacher softly asking a classroom full of rowdy brats to be quiet. If I saw that and had been a part of it, I would have taken it as a "secret message", he sent mixed signals after all. Had he truly wanted them to stop, he would have been more firm and left out the affirmations. In this scenario, my mind would have thought the corrupted, leftist government forced him to make a message but even with that, he managed to signal his approval secretly, what a smart man after all! In all, it was a horrific event and as much as I disagree with what those people did, as much as I despise what they tried to do, I think the worst any of them deserve is to be in prison for their crimes. Not to die. I think it's crazy they even got in that far, I played a game where you can either guard the president or break into the White House (you cant hurt the president) and look around while trying not to be caught for trespassing, and I thought "this game is so easy and unrealistic" but I guess I was wrong lol. What a wacky world we live in.

And while I despise the actions of the insurrectionists, I don't lump all Trump supporters in with them, especially the ones that jumped the ship after Jan. 6th. But to those that stayed supporters after the incident, I just wonder why. Even if you like his policies, why can't you just band together with other Republicans in search of another candidate with similar policies or convince a popular candidate to adopt some of his policies when he runs? People can only ignore so much of a president's actions before it becomes blindly following rather than just really agreeing with their policies. I don't agree with constantly making everything about Trump, I mean he's not even in office anymore damn, but at the same time I find it odd and disappointing people could still support him too. Anyway that's just my take, I don't know what kind of response this will get, that is if anyone reads it, but yeah. :)

In that video he repeated his conspiracy theories and told those rioters "I know your pain, I know your hurt", "we love you, you are special", "I know how you feel".
