Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is asking forgiveness over the hostage deaths but is remaining firm against Hamas.

Speaking to thousands of protesters, the Prime Minister vowed the militant group would pay a heavy price for the massacre of the Israelis.

Mr Netanyahu says while he is fully committed to a hostage deal, the nation must have control over the Philadelphi corridor, as he made clear at ceasefire talks.
