you are partially wrong. you do not need to deactivate your friend's account. you just create a new user with your account and start the eshop.

you can have multiple accounts active on one switch, I have 3, so I know.

Sir, My kids currently have one Switch console. We are taking a trip soon and are purchasing a second console so they wont fight over who gets to play...
They own lots of games on physical disks. Can those games be played on either console? Can one be playing Zelda and the other Mario Kart with the one copy of the game or do we have to purchase another copy of the physical game?

Yeah I did this with a friend, I deactivated mine, and he deactivated his and it never worked. I go on the eshop with his account, and it still says j need to purchase the games he got. This video was no help if there's only explanations and no examples
