The tony maja drift spoon looked insane to me for people using it to catch stripers. I wanted to try it for monster redfish at the jetties. Once I got this thing in the mail it made me laugh because how big it was but then I got the chance to see what it could do...

These particular spoons seems like it's always out of stock so it make me believe its no really being made much anymore and thus you have to pay a $10-15 premium to get one.

To make it clear, I do not recommend the lure for jetty fishing, it's too expensive and does not cast well (that's not what it is made for). I was just hyped up to see it was at all possible.

I truly love how excited you get when u hook into something that is exactly how I react u hate anglers who act like they are too professional to give a reaction when they get a hit

Crazy to see how these reds will hit those monster lures. To me, it’s as if the 3oz spoon is like a finger mullet, and the footlong is like a horse mullet or ladyfish. Great content as always!

I love it when guys with more subscribers give credit to the legends (with less subs). Combine that with your enthusiasm earns the like and sub.

Nicely done with the large spoon I need one of those.. Just bring it in fast and high to keep it away from the bottom

A huge hello from Europe here in the Coast of Spain! Watched you working the big spoon, and I can tell you that where my brother lives ( on the south of Spain, where the Mediterranean lines up with the Atlantic just left of Portugal the sea bass and Corvina are huge!!! I'm 120% sure dude that this huge spoon would rip it up there!! Been living out here in Spain for the past 4 years now, coming from California where we lived basically our entire life.

As soon as I saw your video I had to share it with my brother! He'll love this huge spoon, his fishing 🎣 experience is rather extensive, he can basically out fish most pros out there...
In this very moment and time with the cold creeping in, huge sea bass and Corvina tend to hug the ports. Looking for easy meals...

We are talking fish that measure larger than my entire leg🦵 and I'm 5' 11"!!!
Thx for sharing the experience with that huge spoon!!

As a musky angler, what, s crazy when you begin fishing is the size of the lures. I, ve been catching 20-22in. muskies on 9-10in. baits. Those fishes will sometimes eat way bigger than we expect !

I have fished a light at night on the Port A ship channel. When the bull reds come in I toss out live pin fish on a bobber. They eat them whole. I once tried a 12" sand trout and the red swallowed the whole sand trout. Fun times!
I always love your vids keep it up.

I’m not surprised you got bit on that big chunk of spoon-There are tons of 8”-10” pogeys on the beach/ jetty’s right now. Awesome stuff Coop

That’s a giant red. At first. You know you catch some MONSTERS when that’s not a giant. Keep making videos! I love them

I've caught sand trout that were less than 12" on lures that were 4-5". Never underestimate a hungry fish
