How I made this:

I got a high quality version of the original clip of the Simpsons. It's surprisingly hard to find a good one on the internet. I went to the TF2 wiki's pages on scout and engineer voice lines and voice responses. I ripped the audio out of the Simpsons clip and placed it in Audacity. I then downloaded a bunch of engineer voice line files that sounded like the words I wanted to have. I then placed the sound files in Audacity. I cut them down and placed them to fit word-by-word correctly next to the Simpsons rip. The idea was to sync it up. The original audio is for reference. Turns out the engineer really doesn't have any word even remotely sounding like "alarm" so I made it out of 4 words.

When I was done with the audio I opened up Source Filmmaker and placed the engineer's hat and the scout's hat in a green-screen room I made some time ago. I set up the lighting. I set up the cameras to take pictures of the hats. at the angles used in the Simpson's clip. So I went back and forth to compare. I came to the conclusion that I needed Homer's hat at 1 left-angle, 1 centre, 1 right and 1 far right. I needed Bart's hat at left, centre, right and far up for the very end. After rendering the hats I used paint . net to remove the green screen and cut the bottom off the hats out. (When a hat is on your head you can't see the inside of it.)

The next step was to open my video editing program, DaVinci Resolve. Place everything the timeline. The Simpson's clip with my new audio. Then I went frame-by-frame making sure the hats are positioned correctly on the character's heads as they move around and during the zoom-in half-way through.

I was bored so I remade Bart's poster in the background in Source Filmmaker and placed it in the shot and it scales and moves alone with the clip too.

When everything looked good I rendered and uploaded it to Youtube.
