the more I watch your videos the more I get to the conclusion that cheap gentle soap to clean the face and then a normal hydration cream is the best way to go. Fancy stuff ends up trapping you in a consuming cycle of different products that never ends.

Thanks Cassandra. I started Tretnoin in December and have had the darndest time with it. I broke out with periorbital eczema for the first time ever even with oily skin. CeraVe wasnt good enough but LaRoche Posay moisturizer did the trick. The CeraVe Healing Ointment around my eyes has stopped the eczema. I'm hoping that my skin will look flawless like yours soon.

There are some creams that do thin skin, though. Not retinal or anything, but hydrocortisone is something that does thin skin, for anyone unaware. (Who might have it prescribed.)

I’ve used Retin A since the 80s. That and Aquaphor are the two things I would choose if I had to. I can’t even begin to tell you how great Tretinoin is. I get mine prescribed by my doctor or sometimes an online physician.

The peeling often experienced with retinoids is technically exfoliation though

My dermatologist said this. I knew something was wrong cause whenever I watched skincare videos whether it be skin influencers or dermatologists they never said it was an exfoliator. Cause they always would say remember not to use any exfoliators on the same day as u use retinol. I didn't correct the dermatologist cause I didn't want to come off as rude, especially since I'm 17 and theyve gone through yrs of medical school. Thx for clearing this up. 😂

I was on retinoid for 6 months and my skin peeled the entire time. Never lessened. And I got wrinkles on my forehead after starting.

I love retinol, it's kind feels "hydrating" to say, but I think it doesn't help me. I use the retinol from The ordinary for past a year, but I don't see something change on my skin. Many people say that when they use it makes their skin very dry (I have atopic dermatitis, but it's okay), flaky skin, some have more acne than before for a some time, but for me it's yeah it's give me a glow, nothing like what I heard. I use retinol 2 times a week and now I stopped for 3 weeks because I test a serum with BHA and tea tree. Even if I stop use them and come back i still not see many changes. I started to think that my skin is very plumply, I don't have any wrinkles (my parents are in their 60's still looking 5 to 10 years younger than they are), but my acne is the thing that made me start use it...still nothing changed. Maybe I do something wrong 😐

one issue I have with understanding how retinoids anti age us in the long run. Doesn't dna replication shorten the telomeres at the end of our chromosomes, therefore leading to our cells dying out earlier.

Except when it comes to chemical peels. Trentinoin is used as that

What’s interesting is that tazarotene(another prescription retinoid) doesn’t bind to the rxr at all
