I am a descendant of Muskogee ( Upper Creek near the Coosa River in central Alabama) I stumbled across this searching for the Creek word for Bigfoot. We have an abundance of Este Capko here. My first experience prompted me to begin researching these “Boogers” as the old folks called them.
I’ve had numerous encounters with them and even have them visit my property regularly. They can be scary but generally speaking, not overly aggressive. I’m sure they can be under the right circumstances.
If anybody is interested please do a YouTube search “ Blacksmithing and Bigfoot.” My friend interviews me while we happen to be working my forge. I tell my experiences around my house and with my wife.
I’m so glad I found this channel as I’m greatly interested in my Creek heritage!

I too am a Mvskoke citizen and I have experienced hearing a "yell" deep in the Kiamichis. The best way to describe it was a cross between a roar, yell, and howl...on steroids! It was so loud and so strong that there was no doubt in my mind (and my best friend's mind) that it was a MASSIVE creature. It was NOT an elk, bear, coyote, lion, bobcat, etc, etc. Whatever 'it' was had lung capacity much greater than any of those critters, including elk. Besides, we've heard all those critters and this was most definitely NOT one of them.

*Note: This was mid-January 2017 at dusk.

But here's what makes this more bizarre. When this creature yelled, it went on for about 35-45 seconds and when it stopped a pack of yotes started going nuts. Now here's the bizarre part...the yotes were with "it". The yotes yipped and yapped and went crazy, as yotes do, but then this thing yelled again for another 45 seconds or so, much louder and stronger than the yotes, and they shut up instantly. Whatever "it" was had complete control and respect of the pack. It was obvious that they feared it. We've since heard of people seeing Bigfoot accompanying yotes, or vise versa, so we've wondered if they hunt together at times. Was the yell, and the frenzied yotes, a call to arms? A hunting party, so to speak?

Before the naysayers call me nuts, I spend a lot of time in the deep woods and I know my critters. This was unlike anything I have ever heard or experienced. In fact, my best friend and I are both veterans with boots on the ground in well over a dozen countries, and multiple deployments each, and this experience made both of us reach for firearms and ready to battle. Afterwards we sat there with our jaws agape, scratching our heads in complete awe and bewilderment. "What the %#$& was that?!?!"

We have also heard rock clacking in this exact same spot. On this particular trip, January 2019, we had our sons with us, so the five of us each heard the clacking go on around camp all evening/night. Nothing in the woods other than raccoons have thumbs and they don't clack rocks like we heard. This was a call and response. A clack over here followed by a clack over there. Obviously some sort of communication.

It's also important to note that we camp in the mountains in the months of December-March, so there aren't many willing to endure winter temps in a tent. The likelihood that these experiences was a person is almost nil. However, if it was a person, then 1) they punked us good on two separate occasions and 2) they were absolutely stupid for doing something like that to well armed men. And old, crotchety, long in the tooth vets at that!

Bottom line, there is no doubt in my mind that we experienced Este Chapko. Plain and simple.

I’m in Alabama, my son and I have both seen it this year. The one we saw was 8’ +, black in color and so so fast. I saw it, blinked my eyes and it was gone. He was terrified.

Muscogee Nation’s Unsolved Mysteries! I love it.

A good friend of mine said he once saw a Bigfoot. He’s a good and honest man, and I tend to believe him.

In Lawrence Kansas a few years back, I was visiting the Wakarusa as I would go on nature walks occasionally. This time I was almost out of the woods, and there was a long ditch about 30 feet ahead of me (I knew this ditch well because it meant my journey was pretty much over) and in my peripheral for a while there was some large black thing. I ignored it at first because I was watching for snakes and thorns, but then I thought that I better see what it was on the off chance that it was a black bear. I remember expecting to see something uninteresting, like a shadow from a tree or just a trick of light. But when I looked over to it, I saw a figure taller than me, but I could tell it was standing in the ditch. This was all very brief but in that moment when I saw it, I thought it was a nun on a black horse. It was gone in a blink, but I think I caught it with my eye moving down that ditch, and I definitely heard it… what was odd was the sound of the broken branches were not loud as I expected. I only heard two or three things snap in the direction it went. I paused for a second but then hurried to the ditch and looked for horse tracks and didn’t see any. Or any tracks for that matter… It was only later that I thought that este Capko was more fitting than a nun on a horse

I got a pic of tall man, NOT BIG FOOT but tall man like the shadow people. My dad Wilbur Chebon Gouge, he told me about tall man long time ago forget how to say it in Creek. BIGFOOT he said was called whip man cause of how he hits sticks against trees, I used to hear it alot of times even when I ran around the woods by myself, I would stop n listen sometimes but never heard it yell around. Lol like this guy that heard audio lol I never heard recordings out in the woods lol jk mite get butt hurt lol. I've heard alot of things but never heard yelling from Bigfoot just the whipping of hitting the trees. Hek Bigfoot was probably just watching me run around the woods lol
