I wonder if entities are assumed to be beings such as Mother Mary or Michael the Archangel by people having NDEs based on their background & beliefs. She states, "I just knew" who these entities were -- but she never says these entities told her they were Mary or Michael.

In other cases, it seems these beings might represent themselves as familiar figures to accommodate existing paradigms that people use to define & interpret reality.
