The UK's relationship with China is complex and has to be dealt with in a calibrated manner. There are areas in which they have to work together, such as in addressing climate change, but there also exist issues on which they disagree. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly shares more with CNA a day after the British government released an update of its security, defence, development and foreign policy priorities.

China should also respond with forthright confrontation asking for war reparation compensation for opium wars and forceful occupation of Hong Kong 155 years colonial rule.

CNA will give coverage to a declining and fast becoming insignificant power on the world stage but not give more coverage to the most significant diplomatic breakthrough for peace in the middle east. Here we have the UK talking about an aggressive China when China just brought 2 historical enemies to re-establish embassies and signed trade deals and friendship exchanges. Are we pro-peace or pro-conflicts?

James Cleverly's plan to tackle the challenges posed by a more assertive China and Russia's war in Ukraine is comprehensive and timely.
