I'm a lifelong Marvel fan, but I appreciate characters from DC. I'd rather see neither fail because if they can both succeed, that means comics succeed.

I lean more towards DC.

But I will say this: To me, DC has the wrap on animated movies while Marvel has the wrap on live action movies.

Personally, I like both, but DC will always have my heart thanks to the animation

I tend to lean toward DC. They innovate. DC started the Multiverse. They had adult titles like Sandman. Their writers are given freedom to do their thing. Marvel is good at an intertwined single universe. Their editors do their thing.

As an artist, I've always respected DC for their innovations-- Watchmen started an age of deconstructionism, for better or worse. They had strong titles outside of the superhero genre. Hell, they STARTED the superhero genre.

I like both. Though I think DC is a bit more special to me due to growing up with Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and JL Unlimited.

I'm a DC guy pre-2011 with a few exceptions after that year. as for Marvel, they have put out a lot of great books but, DC has always resonated more with me. probably starting with the Superfriends and '66 Batman.

Would have been cool if you had talked about the crossovers they've had over the years too.

To avoid mentioning them by name, Stan Lee would call DC the "Distinguished Competition"

Despite the history, it's suprising that the two companies have more of a buddy rivalry than anything. They usually reference, shoutout, or even crossover within the comics in fun and interesting ways, and even now, their parent companies (Warner and Disney) are even buddy rivals, with Disney and Warner working on a lot of different things together you wouldn't expect. I'm personally not a superhero guy, but I always find it fun when two major studios competing in the same thing can still work together and have some fun, hell, DC Comics even let Stan Lee take his own approach to some of DC's most popular heroes, and with how protective DC is of their IPs, seeing a unique spin on Batman by someone new was a breath of fresh air.

You forgot about Blade (1998). That was the real kick starter for all the Marvel movies we’ve been getting since

Did you know that DC stands for Detective Comics so by saying DC Comics you are actually saying Detective Comics Comics

I've grown up more with Marvel, but I like both companies. In terms of media, my favorites are:
-The Dark Knight
-Spider-Man: No Way Home
-Batman: Arkham City
-Spider-Man (the 2018 game)
-Wonder Woman (the 2017 movie)
-Captain America: Civil War
-DC Super Hero Girls (2019)
-Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes
-Batman: The Animated Series
-The Spectacular Spider-Man

As far as characters, well...
-Spider-Man and Batman
-Captain America
-Deadpool
-Green Latern (John Stewart and probably Jessica Cruz)
-Supergirl
-Star Sapphire (Carol Ferris)
-Iron Man
-Joker
-Doc Ock
-The Riddler
-Green Goblin
-Bane
-Venom

Also worth noting, there were crossovers between the two, such as a Batman/Spider-Man comic, as well as Amalgam Comics, which was a series of comics starring a combination of a DC character and a Marvel character. Also, am I only one who thinks Bats and Spidey are very similar to each other?

I’ve always connected with and was more interested in the dc characters. My favorite hero’s are all dc Batman, Nightwing, green lantern, flash, blue beetle. But I feel like marvel treats the cinematic universe with so much care and planning that it rewards the people wha are involved fans so in recent years I find myself interacting with marvel properties more just because of sheer market saturation and love for all things comic books

Personally I would chose DC and DC will always be in my heart but I appreciate what Marvel is doing.

I'm forever a DC girl, I love the animation versions, and the early live action then of course birds of pray. I like the darkness that is Gotham and the stories told there. Most of all when Tim Burton made a batman movie I was hooked for life

It’s pretty interesting that my father was really big into DC characters growing up, but as I grew up when X-men was blowing up for me in the 90s I loved marvel and seeing the back story is always interesting to me, great story

Honestly love both. I started with Batman and mainly love DC for Batman and as I grew up, I got into Marvel with the release of the films, but I do still love both. When I go to watch a superhero film, I don't really think about if it is "DC or Marvel" for quality, rather I evaluate it based on how the movie actually was.

I've never been a comic book reader, but Spiderman and Batman always commanded my attention with their respective TV shows. I feel like those two characters best transcend their original medium and are very accessible without keeping up with the comics.
