I can see the collapse happening too now. There has been mass immigration to Western countries like Australia (where I live), Canada, the UK. Part of this is because big business in these countries want cheap labour, but the other part is because the countries these people come from do not have enough jobs. Jobs provide money which is humans' resource to survive. In Australia there are now hundreds of applicants per job. People are becoming homeless. All of this coupled with climate change is proving that collapse is occurring right now.

2.5 kgs per person can be effected solely by another person being born. 4 billion people live in China and India alone. If you take out their population and the area their countries take up and compare the mammal mass per person of the rest of the world in relation to the land mass the rest of the population takes up I can assure you it'll look much more hopeful. But that goes to show the problem, what do we care about in relation to what.

World population has increased 16 times since 1500. even if total numbers of wild mammals stayed exactly the same as the year 1500, this would mean only 12.5kg per capita, with farming of livestock I wonder if we have had an increase in mammals, not considering humans.
