Another short one, this time because there's not much to do with this skill yet.

You can also add a "battery slot" to lamps when lvl 3 i guess, that way when everithing goes dark you dont need to rely on generators wich use finite fuel, but rather on batteries that spawn on zombie corps to have light at night

Let's keep it real - There's no way anybody is grinding electrical to 6+ with vanilla xp rate.

There's a little tip i wanted to share that i found recently, when it comes about dismantling stuff for Electrical skill grinding. You get XP both ways, but the one you use depends on if you want more electronic materials (scraps, bulbs, electric cable, etc) OR you want more XP. Works like this: If you dismantle a PLACEABLE item (Radios and TVs) you have in your inventory, you only get a bit of XP (just a little more than with watches) and you get a lot of electronic materials; but if you place the item onto the ground (floor, table, anywhere) and then you dismantle it, you get a LOT MORE XP, but it takes much longer to dismantle the item, and you're only going to get electronic scrap (and most of the time you don't get anything). So it depends on what are you aiming for; if you want to grind Electrical skill, dismantle radios and tv's when they are placed (not on your inventory); if you want to get materials, do the opposite. This of course could be subject to change in the future, so take advantage for as long as it is available. Cheers.

Edit: Also, don't forget to take the batteries off the radios you're dismantling, it's free stuff >D

To add an additional way to get electrical experience, repair generators. IIRC each repair gives a hefty chunk of exp and only requires 1 electronics scrap. It's okay if you're in it for the long haul and want a safer/more passive way to grind exp over time. You'll probably be doing this anyway once the power goes out and you want to preserve food before winter hits.

I wish you could electrify your base more, with lightswitches, and celing lights, also it would be cool if you had to have outlets and fuse boxes for the electrics to set up in a base, and having low electrician skill as well as being just careless could lead to fires if you messed up

Unless they nerfed it( in 41.54), there is a third bâtiment where you can find at least all first level book in Riverside, big library on the first floor, 15 bookcases, 2 newspapers racks. The big one north of the gated community, easier to clean than the school, with also a great kitchen on the ground floor. Fairly easy to secure with many desks to blocks doors and windows and 2 big orange dustbins too and out of the way from center town. And the Megamart is only 5 mns away on foot.
Thanks for the video.

really electrical should be redesigned around trap making. Imagine improvised landmines, remote bombs, alarms or shotguns rigged to infared sensors, electric fences, etc

I remember when my friend and I grinded electrics years back. You'd find makeshift radios in every single container, all over the floors... Must have been thousands of them, but It was the only good way we found to get extra experience out of disassembling literally everything

Engineer is my fav occupation. Add amateur mechanic and you only need to grind one level of mechanics to hotwire. At level 6 elec, if I am remembering correctly you can make battery connectors that allow you to make any lamp battery powered, which is awesome! Fire bombs with gasoline are great too! TV disassembly has most xp, don't forget those paper towel dispensers and wall clocks: all give elec XP.

I like how you put the chart thing showing the difference between reading the skill books and not reading them. You got good shit, son. Thanks for entertaining us!

Apparently I made this one at 24fps instead of 60fps. Woops?

Electrical becomes relevant if you decide to play with the solar panels mod. I make it some sort of a "goal" in my playthrough to actually have power generating from solar panels. And to make it really efficient it requires you to level electrical to at least lvl 6.
But without that yeah it is still underwhelming. I think the noise maker range should definetely be improved and a lot of bugs to be fixed.

Mailboxes can also contain magazines, so it's a good idea to check them while walking around in the suburbs.

I actually grind electrical all the time (mostly digital watches), to get electrical components for (and get better at) fixing generators.

check watches for alarms, especially if you're not organizing loot
