How to Install Max Patches in Ableton Live 10

In this quick video, I will show you how easy it is to install user made Max for Live patches, audio effects, instruments, and MIDI effects in Ableton Live 10!
First, find some great free Max for Live patches! 
Then, open Ableton Live 10. This works the same way in Live 9 too!
Find where your user library is located. You can do that one or two ways.

Go to Preferences - Library - Location of User Library
Right Click on the User Library in the Browser - Show in Explorer 
Click the Presets folder - Ableton\User Library\Presets

Now, you just need to drop the Max Patch in the right folder. 

Audio Effects - Max Audio Effects 
MIDI Effects - Max MIDI Effects
Instrument - Max Instruments

Thanks man! This could be because of a new update, but I didn't even have to route separate devices to their corresponding MIDI/audio effects folders. Just dropped my folder of M4L devices into the user library and they're all showing up in the "Max for Live" category, or with a simple CTRL + F 😄

0:52 The file you added has a .amxd extension, not a .maxpat extension. Found this video after seeing that .maxpat files in User Presets directory are not being found by Live. So... please tell us how to install those.

Thanks. In OSX you need to go to LIVE > PREFERENCES and click the library tab.

Thanks Man this is just what I needed. But how do I tell the difference? Instruments are pretty self explanatory and a reverb is an effect. But what would the Probability Pack be?

As many have asked, this process works for ".amxd" extension, not a ".maxpat" extension,
so how can those be used or converted to work with Max for Live?
I want to use the Osmose Eaganmatrix editor (Haken) which is a "maxpat" file in Ableton Live 11 (in M4L).

What about a patch that I downloaded that came with 3 .maxpat files? how do I use them in ableton and not automatically open them in max?
