The normal resting heart for adults is between 60 to 100 bpm. Anything less than 60 bpm and more than 100 bpm is not within the range.
Bradycardia is when your heart rate is less than 60 bpm, while tachycardia is a heart rate, more than 100 bpm. If you have any of these symptoms, you need to talk to your doctor. They could be an indication of a heart condition and needs proper treatment.
However, if you are a trained athlete, your resting heart rate is usually less than 60 bpm, and if you are engaging in strenuous activities, your heart rate, and may raise up more than 100 bpm. Your heart rate may also go up if you are stressed, excited, upset, or angry. If your are nervous or stressed, tell yourself that your just excited. And don’t be upset or angry, and just smile.

My Heart rate when I'm lying down is about 55-60 and when I'm asleep it drops to as low as 43. I'm not an athlete, I'm in shape but I don't do any sports either
