I’m just glad to see her get out of her own way, those self inflicted wounds combined with undeserved grief made her angry. Don’t know if somebody helped her get her head together or she did it on her own but now she’s on track (pun intended) to monetize her brand and make some real money. She deserves her success. Get that gold girl!

If Richardson gets a clean start she will win gold. Her starts are improved but there still not constant. The start is the first thing to go under pressure.

There is many a slip between the cup and the lip. In 2021 Elaine was not expected to do well as she barely made the Jamaica team finishing 3rd in both the 100 and 200M and look what she did at the games. Nothing in life is certain but death and taxes.

100m Stats I would like to mention:
*Only Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce & Gail Devers are the only women to have an Olympic Gold and a World Gold in the 100m. If Sha'carri wins the 100m Olympic Final, she would join them as only the third woman to accomplish this. As well as that, she would be first woman in the 100m to successfully win the Olympic Games as the reigning World Champion from the previous year.

*If Jamaican women don't medal in the 100m this year, it will be first time since 1988 Seoul Olympics where Florence Griffith Joyner won the Gold Medal.

*The last time an European woman medalled in the 100m at the Olympics was Yulia Nestsiarenka of Belarus in 2004. Yulia is also the last woman outside of North America to medal at the Olympics in the 100m since every year after has had Jamaicans and Americans on the podium.

Will be a very interesting Women's 100m this year at the Paris Games.

Sha'carri already has the College record & Womens WC record. Like her coach mentioned i wish she wouldn't celebrate early and run through the line😅..Hopefully she breaks the Olympic record now👌.

Also when compard to the Jamaican duo of Shelly Ann & Elaine she is faster at the same age. Ultimately i feel this shows her future is bright when compared to greats like them😁

I wish Jacious Sears was healthy enough to compete in the US trials

I think it is a blessing that SR did not quality for the 200. She will remain fresh and might get a really fast time in the 100.

I've never understood why someone would be banned from athletics because they took a performance decreasing drug.

Shacarri Gold medal 🥇 10.57 🔥

Edit: I stand corrected didn’t see that coming before the games but after the first round when our lady Shacarri just seemed too nervous I had an idea we/she was in trouble. I’m hot about it can’t lie but she’ll back for a rematch. These ladies are young and will engage in many more battles. But for now congrats to the world’s fastest woman Julian Alfred 🔥

I choose Sha'Carri to win gold at around 10.60. Julien Alfred and either Sherika or Shelly to fill the remaining podium. A 10.60 would tie her 3rd of all time. I don't see anyone touching FloJo's questionable record of 10.49 this year.

She has a good chance of winning the gold. However, experience has shown that it it never wise to hand out medals before the event.

Sharcarri needs to get that start out of the blocks nailed. If she does it’ll be a definite Gold. She certainly deserves it for her comeback over the last few years and her pure entertainment in track and field.

Excited for SR as I doubted her resolve yrs ago. I was wrong. Her winning gold seem in the bag. Only wr in jeopardy is the 400 hurdles with bol and Sydney

She still makes me nervous over 4 rounds but I’m rooting for her. I bet with good wind she’ll run near or maybe even break the Olympic record in R1 or semi after the prelim… but not the final. Which leaves her vulnerable: it’ll be very tight. Not sure who will win this but Tia Clayton is my wild card for atleast a breakout performance. Youngest of the sprinters on the biggest stage I think is set for fireworks.

While I’m still kinda bummed she didn’t qualify for the 200m hopefully it will be a bit of a blessing in disguise so she can put all her effort and focus into the 100m

The excitement this year revolves around the men’s 100m, with the field being so deep with talent. We have FIVE competitors that are genuinely capable of 9.7’s !!

It’s the one Olympic event that I’m truly charged up about …

As for the women ? I’m hoping Gabby T. smokes the field …

She’s *likely* favored and will display what ppl thought she had after winning the Bowerman in 2019. Add that 🇯🇲 isn’t in top form, but is sending a very fast but young and inexperienced Clayton, this might be 32yrs in the making : a possible 🥇 for US Women in the 100M. *possible*

I find it interesting how short some of the elite female sprinters are, Sha'carri 5'1", Shelly-Anne 5'0". Incredible pocket rocket sprinters, and not just fast out of the blocks but great top end speed .

Apart from Sydney McLaughlin in the 400H & Noah Lyles in the 200 I think Sha'Carri has to be one of the biggest favorites in an individual running event.

I think she wins & will be extremely close to the Olympic record.
