That edit with cracking the head/main bolts was awesome, one of my favourite sounds ever. Good vid brother

Great video. Really informative. It’d be great to see a similar video comparing the BA, BF, and FG silver top engines. For those that are more budget conscious and doing an NA + T conversion it’d be interesting to know if there are any internal differences as there seems to be alot of mixed information out there.

Nice video, my favourite motor is the BF, really nice torque curve at low rpm, max torque is at 2500rpm and all the way to 2500rpm is producing more torque than the FG motor in stock form petrol homologation. FG produces slightly more torque but this is produced at above 3000rpm only.

Thanks for the brilliant video mate, awesome quality, no wasted time, excellent editing, very useful information. My cheap 'project car' is a June 2003 BA wagon, with 522, 000km original engine/auto/diff. Have renewed the timing chain cover gasket to fix that leak, but still have a small leak from the rear of the sump dammit. My 'project' is to see if I can get it over the million km's finish line.

TBH I don’t really gaf about Barras, green tops or thick rods. But your video and edit skills are amazing. Very entertaining, your front of camera presence and cut choices are astounding. You will go far.

Awesome video dude, well done for taking the time and actually showing the results. Maybe look into the block differences, like water outlet on fg (left hand rear) and do the engine mounts interchange?.

Even tho i dont live on Australia and have no access to barra engines i was curius about it. As a mechanic i LOVE that thingy thing that holds the chain in place to no miss a tooth down when doing work on the cams with the engine on the car.. all manufacters should be like this. Also this engine reminds me some how the 2jz and all Toyotas 4.5 land Cruiser engine similar structure nice vídeo

Great video mate haven't seen alot of greentops in NZ but they do come up, would definitely be good insurance doing a na +t conversion considering they go for quite cheap

Good video mate, i love these henry 6 potters, i have the barra`s little brother the VCT in the xr6, drove it as a tow car and family taxi for 17 years until the body was very tired in need of major TLC, retired her as i`m now to old to be spannering cars unfortunately and drove her into the front yard with being completely unopened with original head gasket it left the factory with and still running like a beauty except for a bit of timing chain/guide rattle .
if anyone wants to talk about green, here are engines that go for a long long time and are shit easy and cheap to give a freshen up to go another life time .

Everytime I see one of these vids, I'm reminded how us in the states really missed out on these.

Interesting the similarities between the barra and GM atlas 4200 here in the states. Wish we got the barra here. I'd own one.
