You’ve talked to one of my favorite gardeners! I grab a glass of wine and something for dinner and have a watch on Monday evening. It’s a ritual.

I love Jessie’s channel! Her videos are long and beautiful. The shorties can be irritating because you just get into the mood and BOOM it’s over.

Your video is a symphony of visual poetry that resonates deeply. Each frame is a carefully crafted brushstroke, and the storytelling is an enchanting melody that captivates the heart. Another banger Jane and Jessie! Was looking forward to this one! It is so nice to see so many people more local and relevant to our growing area, like Gem and Jessie.

When i first started watching gardening videos on YT, it was mostly with people from the US and Simply Alaska Living mentioned Charles Dowding, kind of opened up the UK gardening community.

I don't really know anyone near me as obsessed with gardening as much as me and with social anxiety i find it hard to not be awkward around people and not talk about gardening. I was an IT Specialist in C London before i was made redundant. I was upgrading their data centre but also working around Online safety bill pre stages, like the Digital Economy Act.

At home we were renovating a ex council 1950's house and garden and looking after our child. My step father in law had a PHD in Geology and was doing no dig in the Isle of Wight and got me really hooked on doing serious gardening at the new house. He had given us tomato plants that we grew in our basement flat patio area, as a container garden, along with strawberries, etc. I hadn't grown tomatoes since i was in my childhood flat and we grew them on the balcony.

We moved to a house when i became pregnant as the basement stairs was dangerous but the house needed so much work. 5 layers of wallpaper and even on the ceiling. Every room needed re plastering. We were lucky that we got the electricians and plumbers in straight away on the first Monday as it turned out there was a gas leak!

I redesigned the kitchen and had finished tiling the new main part of the kitchen a week before i had our kid. Hubby was new to DIY and as i was getting bigger it was more directional with the big bulky stuff towards the end.

After they were born we then focused on knocking the dining room wall down, after an inspection and got someone in to do the bathroom (i don't think they were qualified as they flooded the new kitchen and the results were DIY standard!) and then bedrooms, apart from ours replastering them. It's so hard to think back of all the work we did. Removing exposed redundant pipes and chasing in the sockets was the best but hardest bit. The ground floor ceiling is concrete, which did pose problems but we were able to relocate the upstairs lights to the centre of the rooms and run new cable.

My Dad always wanted a boy but got us two girls and being the youngest was keen to learn about installing central heating or learning about electrics.

Anyway, I am waffling again! Maybe i need your post it note too! lol

I didn't realise you are/were a teacher then? I would love for someone to do 10 questions with you. What age group do you teach? And what was your favourite subject to teach?

I was brave a did a community post about the Potty Mouth Boxing Day Sow Along, small steps. I am scared that people might find me boring or i waffle too much. I used to post a lot on FB back in the day and i used to do in house IT training sessions but i have to be careful now i have a child.

Anyway, looking forward to see who you will be having on next?!
