Slocum is arguably the most celebrated sailor in history. His fate is anything but unknown. He was lost at sea. No mystery there. His travels are legendary, his ship is the most copied sailboat ever, his books are still in print. Amazing Canadian.

I remember watching a documentary that solved the "Battle of Los Angelas". It was a simple explanation, and not the big deal that's been made of it.

One of the most charming things about this channel's narration is the occasional slips: When talking about something happening on somewhere's east side, the narrator will say "west" and keep talking. Things happening in the 19th century will be said "the nineteen forties."

My mom use to work for the Slocums in Rhode island a few decades ago. Very classy and wealthy family. My mom loved working for them.

There is no Bermuda Triangle. Only the Gulf stream which sweeps ships and crashed plans away from projected search areas in the Carribean out into the Atlantic.

I was on my way to work one night . I was driving down a back paved road. About a quarter mile from my turn onto a highway I experienced something scary. As I was driving a huge bright light shone in the air headed in my direction. It was like a massive spotlight coming down the middle of the road. I stopped in the middle of the road and watched it. My phone wouldn't work. It came at me then 3 lights came out of it, went back into it. It started floating over the tree tops. Before I could get to the highway intersection it was gone. 🥴

A lifelong sea captain that never learned to swim? Nope. I don't buy that.

If you spend a lot of time at sea surely the sensible thing to do is to learn to swim why wornd so much time around water if you can't swim it really makes no sense.

Joshua Slocum was sailing, single-handed, , around the world his boat capsized and sank in a storm. No mystery here except where it happened exactly.

Are you really going to say it was weather balloons and that they military couldn't bring them down with 1400 rounds? That sounds more like a conspiracy to me
