1) First, I don't want the government determining my charitable contribution. Charity by definition is voluntary.
2) This is the gist of all welfare arguments and how they try to sell them - by saying that they pay for themselves when the kids grow up earning more and paying more in taxes. But how is that incentivizing people now? The fundamental motivation to studying and working hard is to provide for your family and give them a better life and more advantages than what you had. What message are we sending our society if we say - it doesn't matter how much you make, even though you choose not to work we will give your kid all the same benefits as someone sacrificing their life to better their child's future.
3) Diversity of thought, not skin color or gender! Please don't mix the two up.
4) Everyone is born into a different circumstance. Children in rural Indian are extremely disadvantaged compared to Americans. There is a ton of inequality. Should America send all of its money to India to help all those poor Indian kids be more equal and have the same amount of resources that our kids have?
