The exact same thing just happened to me. I just left my job after 6 months for a promotion with another company and I feel so amazing. Like you, I interviewed with one supervisor and thought it was a good fit based on the interview for the old job. I really thought I had done my due diligence and research. Once I came onboard, I found out I was being placed with a totally different/new supervisor whom I didn't interview with and had I done one with her, I would have never accepted the job. She ended up being the reason I left. Never settle yall! ❤

I left a job after 7 months... I was struggling with the company's culture and how they view our department. Internal audit. I felt useless and the company was overall trash. I decided to look for another job and got a a senior position. My current boss believed in me and my experience and gave me an offer. Guys its possible, follow your guts and leave the employer who doesn't value even if you were there for 4 months

Loved the advice you gave about being able to effectively communicate your career history. So important especially if your trajectory isn’t clear cut.

New subscriber! This video hit home for me because today is my 6 month work anniversary at my current job, and I have decided to start the process of moving on to something better suited for me. I just graduated from my master's program this past May and took the first offer that landed on my lap. I guess you can say I settled because I feel like I can be doing so much more given the right tools, mentorship, and workplace culture which my job, unfortunately, doesn't check all those boxes. As you said, there are no perfect jobs but I strongly believe there is something better for me that I'll be much more happier and satisfied with! :-)

The blooper at the end when the camera was coming into focus would make a lovely intro!! Thank you for sharing this, career moves can cause so much anxiety so hearing someone successful (by my standards) talk about taking risks that didn't work out and not letting that stop them from continuing to make moves is much appreciated!!

Still on a hard -decision, ppl here are nice, it's just the whole working flow is too random and I am more structure person and always cause me anxiety when I saw things doing wrong

Dont feel bad about moving. Companies look out for their bottom line. They lowball people, over work them, and layoff/fire as they see fit.

Thanks for your sharing! I made the mistake of having left a company too quickly and hasn’t yet made a way out after a very considerable amount of time by now.

Hi Stephie. Many thanks for sharing your journey with us. It has really helped me to ease my anxiety around my career. Could you make a video on answering "Why did you leave your last job", if i am leaving due to a toxic culture. I am aware that we should not talk trash/give too much detail about the negativity we experienced, but how are we to ensure we don't end up in the same/worse environment if we are not clear about our expectations in the interview?

May I know if it's possible to get transferred to a Big 4 office in the US as an audit staff/senior? Thanks!

Thank you for this, it is needed for me since I just started to realize how fast-paced public accounting is and I haven't even started busy season yet, but i am not a quitter lol. #faithittilyoumakeit haha. Also, where is the dress from? It's so cute <3

Just wondering, what are your thoughts on an IT auditor with a CISA and CPA, going back to school for a Masters in probably Data Analytics? I'm currently starting off my career by getting both certifications (recently passed the CISA and starting on the CPA in a few months), but would love to get your opinion on if getting a masters would be worth it in the future. Do you think having a masters would be worth the investment long term (probably will cost $60-70k for the masters)?

Hey steph, I stared off in forensic accounting, do you think that being in this niche area will leave me stuck from branching out into many industry positions?

Can you please talk about the CISA certification as to how it relates to internal audit and whether you would recommend one have it? Is it better to get both CPA and CISA? Thanks!

Omgg you were in regulatory reporting as well!

Do IT auditors work longer hours then regular internal auditors or is it the same?

Hi Stephanie,
You have some good advice and your Channel has the potential to grow and reach more audience. a tip, make the videos shorter, 10 mins or less. Our generation is lazy. Thanks
