Install Custom LUTs INTERNALLY on the Sony FX3 || Firmware 2.0

The Sony FX3 just became a brand new camera again, and one much more deserving of Son'y "Cine" branding. New menus, timecode, Cine EI workflow... there's loads to talk about & get used to. In this video I show how to install your own custom LUTs onto the Sony FX3, which you can display over your S-Log3 while shooting to help with exposure.

EMBED LUT does not Burn the LUT into the footage. It's still sLog - just the LUT used is EMBEDDED in the METADATA so you know which LUT was used when shooting.
You still need to add the LUT in post if you want to apply it.

Thank you so much for your fabulous solution to the inclusion of the false color LUT for the Sony FX3. Works like a charm. It’s a thrill to be able to enable false color when you don’t have an external monitor attached.

5:26, having the embed lut file on, or off, shows the exact same thing on my computer. which is flat log video. i have correctly lut on, and selected the phantom lut neutral. is it maybe the embeded LUT file ONLY for metadata in sony catalyst program?
it seems like u meant its baked and saves us time in colour correction. but it is still flat on or off.

So if you select embed LUT file it actually comes out as recorded in LOG or just as a standard profile with a LUT type filter applied? A lot of people have said it's just a standard movie profile with the LUT effect applied (so you don't really keep the additional dynamic range benefits of shooting in LOG). Thanks.
